Different terrian, different property access, different species of animals, different game populations, different plants and vegitation densities, and yet you wonder why some hunter hunt differently in different areas?

The answer to your question about why you never hear... blah blah blah, is you are only hearing what you want too.

Many hunters in LA and a large amount on this board do not hunt over feeders. Experienced hunters will tell you that with rare exception truly trophy bucks dont frequent feeders during daylight hours. Dog hunts and pushes are/were quite common in some areas of LA. Still hunting is not the same as stand hunting and is gaining popularity in LA.

And it is whitetail, a single word not two.

why tree stands and feeders are the norm around here

It's the easiest way. Out west, the land is much different and is very well suited to spot and stalk. Around here, it's rare to be able to see more than 100 yards unless you're on a right of way, which is a very common thing due to the amount of pipelines in louisiana. The same is true for most of the southeast. It's very difficult to put the sneak on a deer on most properties around here. Personally, I don't like hunting over a feeder unless I'm meat huntin for a doe.

Funreaux and Downshift, you two have successfully defended your stance on hunting.

I grew up with my brother and his crew who hunt in the expensive tree stands and feeders and cameras. It was always frustrating to see them "flex their muscles" when they got a kill when I know there's hunters out there working a lot harder than they are.

Then comparison aside...Why do I never hear of hunters stalking white tail and using other methods than tree stands and feeders.

I hunt Mississippi, but the majority of the LA hunters I know hunt by walking through the swamp or making drives or still hunt with climbers. The rest use cobbled together box stands on pipelines.
Also, we put corn out in MS where I hunt. I can assure you that unless you're on a ranch you'd be a lucky mofo to kill a trophy buck over feed. The corn is mostly just a way to keep the deer healthier and hanging around the property. For the most part the corn is good for getting pictures at night when they come to eat and maybe good for a few does earlier in the season.

Therefore,

That's exactly what it is. Killing and not hunting.

Do you think either of them give two shits about you proclaiming they

You dumb frick. You come on here specifically saying you hate an entire group of people because of their custom then you think you have some authority to grant them a succesful defense.

Why don't you use the small section of your brain not devoted to unwarranted hatred and apply it to the some critical thinking.

Back in the day when I was obsessed with deer hunting, I looked for an isolated White Oak near a pine thicket.

Money

I built my own stands or used a suicide climber but I never spent that kind of money on a stand.

Never used Corn either. Each to his own.

And then he decides to go back and change his title from "Why I hate Louisiana Hunters" to the current.

Yet the stand he is complaing about costing an overestimated 10K is certainly not a tree stand.

I run dogs

I hunt stands sometimes that I can get to with a 4wheeler

I hunt with a rifle

I hunt with a bow

I hunt with a pistol

I hunt by rice bran piles

I sneak through the swamp

I drive dogs

I hunt on logs

I stay at the camp and drink

I hunt out of a pirouge

And I hunt in Louisiana

Go ahead and change your title again.

Does he even know anything about deer? You pattern them or try to predict where they might be moving through and set up near it and wait. Natural feeding grounds? It's not like they make there way to some giant green pasture every day and you can sneak up on them or something Theres food everywhere in the woods. Hunting oak trees and things like that helps definitely, but I find you have a better chance of finding a trophy by hunting the terrain they'll pass through rather than sitting on a food source all day

Ever heard of walking deer down? I suspect that if you had you would understand how ignorant you are, so I'm assuming you haven't.

and

If the terrain were different in the south you would likely see hunting methods change. If I can hunt an area where I can see hundreds of yards, that's where I hunt. And never over bait. Once the areas I have access to have grown up and visibility decrease I will hunt bait sometimes. Best bait is natural bait. Find what they are eating and get there.

You are coming across as an angry little man whose brother's killing more shite then you.

I've only ever used a .270 and muzzle loader. I've only hunted deer in MS so no shogun. Eventually I'll get a bow but there's no point now since I'm in school during bow season and would never use it

And what in the frick does a tree stand have to do with anything?!

Sounds to me like you don't know shite about shite. Bring your arse down here and we'll go to the woods. You might learn something.

It all sounds easy until you sit in a tree stand for 2 weeks in 30 degrees and don't see shite
