You can totes jerk it from a climber, with no corn in sight, on a NWR. Sometimes it gets boring up there, plus why pay $9 for 3oz of "Still Steamin' buck Semen" when you can whip up a batch of your own buck lure?

You are judging everyone by what some do. I personally have NEVER hunted over bait. I see it as unethical, but on the same hand i go to colorado every year and do not see the locals hunting like i do. I see them ride the highways looking for mule deer and elk to shoot from the road.I have also seen them run a herd of elk with a truck till their tongues hang out. The bad part about it is they dont care if you see them do it or not. I have seen alot of unethical shite while in colorado so who are you to come attack the Louisiana hunter? I enjoy setting up on a good deer trail and waiting on that special buck. When i do decide to kill something , its a great feeling knowing i did it on my own. I really dgaf if i get flamed for this , its how i feel about my hunting privileges.

If the native Americans had prefab stands and enough corn to bait em up, and take them out with a 9 power scope on a .270...does the OP still think they would have decided against it?

I'm not reading the whole thread but the first few posts suck.

This thread really isn't that different from all the hate that got thrown at South Texas hunters by the La ones that declared hunting in south Texas as 'not hunting' simply because you can actually see the damn deer.
Whole lot of jealousy out there.
RAH RAH RAH MY WAY IS THE ONLY WAY AND IF YOU DON'T DO IT YOU'RE WRONG RAH RAH RAH.
Stop worrying about how somebody else hunts because you're just gonna sound like an a-hole crying about shite you don't have a clue about.

I dont hunt over bait because it is illegal in Mississippi BUT what is the difference between hunting over a bait pile and hunting over a stand of oak trees or a water source or a feild of oats or a man made scrape for that matter? You are doing the same thing which is taking advantage of the deers need for certain staples. Food, water, and hot strange.
BTW, if Mississippi legalized leg traps and heat seeking projectiles for deer I wouldnt have a problem with people taking advantage their right to hunt that way.

To each his own. Truthfully there is very little hunting done these days. Mostly just shooting. Box stand, bait.etc.. When my kids were young boxstands allowed me to take them and to enjoy being out with them, so I dont hate on them. However, now that they are older, I teach them to scout, pick stand locations, and read the woods. To each his own.

You're clueless.
Any knowlegable hunter would be more upset that he shot a nice 2.5 yr old deer than how he shot him.

Anyone saying this hasn't hunted S TX. West TX is open, S TX is thick as hell with Gajillo and Blackbrush not to mention the cactus and mesquite.

I'm the one that said it and I guess you'll have to determine whether I've hunted south Texas or not since we had leases in Junction and Del Rio that we hunted for years.
