I was looking at a map of the area surrounding our hotel and all I saw were shitty chains.

If you want to eat on Disney property.
Whispering Canyon inside the Wilderness Lodge.
1900 Park Fair inside the Grand Floridian.
Boma inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Whispering Canyon is the best, IMO.

That's pretty much all you'll get around there.

Honestly there is nothing around there but chains. I lived there for about a year and it sucked. There were only like one or two decent original restaurants in all of Orlando.

We just went to Disney in January and did the dining plan and were very disappointed. We did find a little gem of a place that IS a chain but was EXCELLENT...Bahama Breeze...the Buttermilk Fried Chicken was RETARDED delicious and amazingly cheep for the amount of food you got. We liked it so much that we had it again before we left.

There is an Italian place in downtown Disney that makes the best Bellini ever. Sorry I tend to drink dinner sometimes.
