Bro- just head to the 7 mile rigs, go to the cutoff actually, with a 50 on a bent butt loaded w/ 130 JB hollow core and send a bee-liner to the bottom on 400lb FC w/ a 14/0 circle. Be prepared to lose a tremendous amount of tackle but there are monster warsaws there.

I got a 21' cape horn with a crow's nest. Love the boat, motors getting old though.

That is the boat we use to go to the 12 miles in! Haven't been offshore in since my dad stopped going. It has pretty high sides for a boat just a few inches shy of 18'. Wet ride is the only thing I don't like about it.
must be the older style. we have a 24 and it is by far the wettest boat in the world. the old rub rail catches the water and shoots it straight on you. i think i have gotten wet 2 times in the new 31 and im not talking about trip im talking two times total. now i know which side of the boat to be on in a rough sea also soooooo that says alot. basically what im trying to say is that the new hull in very very dry. dryer than a regualtor.

anything over a 50 lb grouper isnt really gonna taste that good. know a guy who caught a 600 pounder and said it was edible but you had to be really hungry. we shouldnt be taking these fish as they are just trophies. those fish should be laying eggs and making more so that we can catch their babies!!!!

I used to sell them a lot of the glass and resin in their boats. I took a test ride and proclaimed it a "U-Boat". The wettest boat I have ever ridden in.

I tried to talk a friend out of buying one. He didn't listen and sold it 14 months later. He fricking hated the boat. He had a 13 ft Boston Whaler that was dryer than his 21 ft CH.

Yes my 17' Cape Horn is older. But being it is only 18 feet long I try to only go fishing in the gulf when it is calm as can be. Sometimes it is a bit rougher and you just have to get wet or slow way way down.
People think I am nuts for going 15 or 20 miles from shore in it... at least I use too. But we only go when it is almost flat and the length of the boat isn't what makes it safe or unsafe either.
