Big weekend coming up against a Top 10 opponent. LSU has not played any top level competition up to this point, but has managed well and taken care of business (except for yesterday).

I think we see the real Tiger baseball team for the first time this weekend, for better or for worse. Even yesterday, Maineiri played with the order a lot in ways that I cannot imagine he will do on the big stage.

I think LSU comes to play this weekend and wins 2 of 3....what say you?

LSU wins the series. My biggest concern with this team to date is the errors. Could cost us a game this weekend since I doubt if CSF gives us as many unearned runs as our previous opponents have provided.

I Think the Tiger take care of business.

Also everyone come to the Right Field concession stand for your refreshments!!!! We will be working it to raise money for a 12U USSSA Baseball Team's dream trip to Omaha to play in the Championship Series there the last week of June.

Walk a little extra for a good cause.

Thanks

our pitching shouldn't have too much trouble. They are a light hitting bunch(to put it nicely). No HR's and 15 doubles in 11 games. Also, only 15/29 in steals.

But then again they could crank out 6 HR's this weekend. who knows

We will see were we stand this weekend. We will find out just how good our freshmen pitchers are. Either way, we will be a better team for playing fullerton.

Winning 2 out of 3 would be really impressive. Sweeping is a little more than I can hope for, at this point.

Their three top IP guys are their 3 starters, and they all have averaged around 7IP per outing, or right at it.

Comparable BB/SO ratio, though ours are a little more skewed to BB thanks to yesterday's unfocused effort.

They seem to have played with their starting lineup more than we have, but they tend to have more interchangeable parts in the field compared to us. Or, at least that's been my impression the past three years we've played them, anyway.

As a team, they hit .267. We come in hitting at a .326 clip.

They've gone up against North Carolina, USC, Long Beach State, and TCU in the early going, so I'd say that they've faced better talent earlier in the year, but our core of starters have all seen more pitching than theirs have.

We also play at home.

I think we will throw some great young pitching at them, and I think we have the sticks at the plate, as long as we can get some timely hitting out of them.

My goal is 2 of 3. Do that, & we're off to a fabulous start, in my book.

I have no idea, honestly. I really want to say this start isn't fools gold, but we just don't know. You just don't know how the new guys are going to react playing against players as good or better than them, it's something most of them have never had to deal with.

I'll say 2/3 because I'm an LSU fan, but a Fullerton sweep is possible I'd say, as is any other combination.

Either way, this is a good test that will serve us well later in the season.

Yes, and I think the loss to Princeton may be a blessing. Now the team knows how it feels to lose and it can't be good. Plenty of incentive to focus on the weekend with a perennial power coming in.

If we take 2 out of 3, I hope it's Fri/Sat when I'll be there.

I'm confident we'll take 2 of 3 and win the series. A sweep would be awesome!

Hard to say, I think we lose big Friday, everyone freaks out, we come back with a close win on Saturday, and lose a close one on Sunday.

Fullerton wins 2 of 3, experienced pitching will be the difference. Fullerton will keep LSU bats in check and McCune, Gausman, etc. have not had to pitch against small ball type Fullerton.

Probably 2 of 3.
If the bats can ring early chasing the starters, a sweep could be in the cards.

Pretty good take. Regarding the starting pitching, expect to see Ramirez, Pill, and O'Connel. They have combined to pitch 62.1 innings and have a 1.61 ERA. They have allowed 37 hits, struck out 50 and walked 12. Their BA against is .176.

After those 3 Dylan Floro is the guy most likely to be seen. He has a 2.38 ERA with 11Ks and 1 BB. He had a rough outing early on but has been better since then. Jake Floethe is a transfer from Fresno State's championship team and serves as the mid-week starter but also pitches on the weekend as necessary. Floethe has a 2.13 ERA over 12.2 IP.

Closer Nick Ramirez has looked solid with 3 saves in 4 appearances. He has pitched 4.2 innings and struck out 7 and walked 3.

Regarding the lineup and interchangeable parts, part of that is due to Tyler Pill being the starting RF, but also the Saturday pitcher. Also, Anthony Trajano has replaced Matt Orloff at 2B. Serrano doesn't hesitate to make late game defensive substitutions. Lastly, Serrano has played a couple kids at Catcher to try and find the right guy, but Jared Deacon seems to have won the job.

I have given this series a lot of thought and still torn, but I think the Titans win 2 of 3 in a closely contested series. Ramirez has been stout and is an experienced pitcher that is tough to beat on Friday night. I think LSU wins on Saturday against Pill and then O'Connell continues his solid work on Sunday. This kid has been a great surprise thus far.

The key to the series will be keeping Richy Pedroza off the base paths. Dude is crazy small but causes havoc at the top of the order.

There likely won't be a ton of traveling fans. Expect to see some, but not like an SEC weekend visitors crowd.
