Seems like the real debate here is if it was Reggies, Bogies, or Fred's that pulled him down.

I don't like the way you rantors are bashing a LSU player that we could not have won the 2003 BCS bowl without. He was a monster back for the 2003 season. Now in regards to after the 2003 season he ripped up his knee and never really made it back 100%. Food, girls, and beer, yes, but the 2003 season was golden and will live forever in our minds.

I'm around the same age as Vincent. He was having sex with my girlfriend at the time. Over the summer of "03" his body looked to soften. No homo. He did indeed drink often.

I disagree with the premise of the question. Yes, his later years were somewhat disappointing after his freshman season raised such high expectations. But no player -- under any circumstances -- who led our team in rushing on the way to winning SEC and National Championships where he was the MVP, can EVER be called a "bust."
A "bust" is a guy who never earned his scholarship. If Vincent had never played another down of football after '03, his contributions in that season alone would have 100% been worth all four (or five) years of his scholarship.

I almost forgot how good that team was.

Im not bashing him. I just said he liked to chase poontang and drink a lot. Who doesnt?? I just know that if I had practice the next morning and I didnt get home until 4am and I was stil drunk when I got home. I would not be at my best. The kid was just so dam talented that he was still able to compete on a high level. Imagine how awesome he would have been if he got a few extra hours of sleep.

How does someone go from so damn good, to as shitty as he was in one season

They would do this thing called parking lot pmping after 2pm outside of tigerland. I knew sluts that would show up at this time after the bars closed.

It's also pretty amazing that he was the 4th or 5th string back to start the '03 season...injuries gave him his chances and then they took his career (which led to the extra time off and the drinking etc) ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

Fred's
I saw him at Bogie's occasionally, but he was a fixture at Fred's. May have slipped over to Reggie's occasionally to "play in sand box".

Bogies & White Women from what I've heard. I've seen him at bogies a few times this semester.

All recent backas that were way better than vincent
I won't say that any one of those backs had a better year than Justin Vincent did in 2003. Some had better careers than Vincent, but none a better single season.
Shyrone fricking Carey? Are you kidding me?
Of that group, Joe Addai, D. Davis, Toefield, Charles Scott, and Jacob Hester had better careers.
And all of those guys ran behind great offensive lines...except for Scott and KW.
JV rushed for over 1000 yards as a freshman and didn't become the starter until the South Carolina game (which was something like week 7). He was the MVP of both the SECCG and the BCS National Championship Game.
But you think Shyrone Carey and Rondell Mealey were better running backs?

And, JV is really good people. Can't say a bad thing about the guy personally ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

It amazes me how stupid people are. The thread is to discuss why JV didn't develop into a 4 year stud on the field. Its been very well documented that his off the field habits were not the best to remain in top physical shape.
Its not like this thread is some baseless bashing of JV. FWIW, I knew him pretty well his Junior and Senior year at LSU. Incredibly nice guy and he'll be one of the first to admit that he let himself slide after 2003.
