Well, there you go.
Can't wait to hear your reasoning here.

That is my choice as well.

I have taken deer with my ar-15 along with many hogs and coyotes. So it could still be used for hunting.

.22 LR Ruger Rifle
12 Gauge Benelli (M2 Field Left Handed)
270 wsm LH Blaser (or a Tikka T3).
.22 has to be the top choice for survival tool.
12 gauge shotgun for birds and self defense.
270 wsm for deer, larger game and reach-out-and-touch-the-bad-guy defense.

Remington 870 might be a better choice for shotgun.
My next three grabs are for:
AR-15 Stag Arms LH 6.8 SPC
9mm Smith & Wesson (or a springfield)
.380 Diamondback (easy hide belly gun)

You CAN use it for hunting. Not ideal.
I look at this two ways. 3 guns for everyday use in which case an assault weapon would be useless for virtually anything other then range use. For virtually every use, there is something else that does that better, wouldn't you think?
For end of days use, I say an assault weapon in 223 is a great choice. WIth Zeiss scope (can't remember what power you said) is where you lost me. Why? Not to mention you have a "sniper" rifle listed right under it (quit playing video games and go outside).
Not saying what you can put in "your 3", but don't call people idiots for not including an assault weapon.

Quick thread highjack:
Found a guy in Shreveport, Louisiana Precision Rifles, and thinking about getting him to build me a long range hunting rifle. Check it out.
Thinking about 300 WSM, 7mm SAUM, or 7-300 WSM. Me and a buddy are setting all our reloading shite up now. shite fixin to get real round here.

At first I misread this as an end of days question, but its really not. I change my answer to..,
Marlin 39A in 22LR
Mossberg 500 12ga w/ optional slug barrel
Walther PPS 9mm
While I would like a deer rifle, to be honest, I can slug deer where I hunt.
And a while that pistol is a low cap carry, its what I've gone to for comfort.

Actually, no one needs an assault rifle. There will be nothing I encounter in my lifetime where one of those is the best firearm for the job.

Did not know this existed until you posted it. How is it different from the .260 remington?

You could always use rifled slugs?
Posted on 2/5/11 at 4:20 pm to Me Bite
True. Rifled slugs work well. But if I can cheat in this quiz and get the extra barrel, I'll do it and use sabots.
My wife's uncle in Ohio hunts with an Ithaca Deerslayer, and its amazing what that thing will do out to like 175yds or so.

Benelli Super Vinci
Ruger 10/22 or Savage .17hmr
Springfield 1911 commander size.
Don't deer hunt so high powered rifle is unnecessary.

So, if you can only have 3 guns and you are a sportsman (hunter) you should use one of those choices for an assault rifle? I am leaning towards not even including a handgun and you feel that we are all idiots for not including an assault rifle?
I will go as far to say that if you actually hunt and can only have 3 guns, you are a damn fool for including and assault weapon in there.
Didnt include either in mine.
Hunting shotgun, pimp skeet gun/small game shotgun and an auto rifle. Why would I have to have an assaulr rifle if I got a Sako? I was shopping for them the other day and the dude at the store was trying to sell me hard on the assault rifle, but the Browning auto 300 wsm was the baddest gun they had in the store imo. It was even lighter in weight than the assualt and it will reach out and touch something a lot further, no thanlks on the assualt rifle.

.22 rifle
.30-06 rifle
12 gauge chambered for 3 1/2"
Preferably all Brownings
Can't think of anything that wouldn't handle.
Now, if I only had one gun . . . It would have to be the black panther slaying Judge (ok, that just sounds wrong)
