Just trying to sum up the last 7 months since the hope-beyond-hope of getting to get away from the Stupid XII-2 and play football in America's Best Conference reared its head

BG, enjoying your posts

I'm excited to be on this forum. I'm a new member here.

I've read all 13 pages of this thread and I have a few questions for Ball Gravy.

1) You mentioned the timetable of Texas A&M going to the SEC would be much much sooner than June. Does that mean days from now, weeks, months?

2) Does TCU going to the Big East make it easier for A&M to go to the SEC or does the fact that TCU is private make it a bad comparison?

3) Are you still giving the probability of this happening a 9.5 out of 10?

4) Are there any other details about Texas A&M going to the SEC that you can share here?

Thanks

The UT network is for UT fans, SEC fans in Texas and Aggies are not going to watch. So it is pointless to stop A&M on those grounds.

Not entirely true, and that's part of what has aggie up in arms right now. ESPN has said they'd "like" to broadcast Texas High School sports on the channel.

Do you really think aggy won't watch recruits they're interested in just because of the channel? I don't.

A&M to the SEC would be pretty cool, especially if they brought OU, oSu, and Mizzou with them.

That would definitely add some spice to the SEC mix.

I've been away this weekend, but feel free to email me... I'm in Baton Rouge this weekend and had limited access to a computer.

Are you trying to argue that there will be a mass audience for the UT network? The point I was making is that the Aggies being in the SEC and on CBS will not take viewers away from the UT network. The UT network will not be something on basic cable so no not too many aggies will pay extra for it to watch a HS game because of some recruit. Of course not every single viewer will be a UT fan, if they show UT v A&M in baseball, aggies will watch, but they are not the audience and them going to the SEC will not hurt the network, so its not a reason to block them
