his body control was incredible...I don't remember the opponent, but he had one play where he faked behind the back and laid it in. One of the worst cases of "pick up your jock" I've seen.

Watching that video, it still kills me that with all the talent we had back in those days with Jackson, Oneal, Roberts, Singleton, Simms, and Bordeaux....we never even made a real dent in the tournament. Should have won at least two or three in those years.

I remember students briefly caring about basketball in 2006 when we made it to the Final Four.

For those of us old enough to have seen Petit, (As a pro),Maravich, Macklin,Williams, Jackson and Shaq it was a treat and a blessing to see them all. As for the PMAC not rocking anymore, that has nothing to do with Football being king. Football was always king. You bring the kind of talent mentioned above back to the PMAC and it would become "Deaf Dome" once again. There wer some pretty good crowds in 2000, '04- '09 occasionally. What TJ needs is to produce a consistant winning product that competes well against everyone that comes to town. Hopefully that comes sooner than later.

Damn old man I didn't see the pistol play I think I had just discovered those 2 things hangin between my legs when pistol was around. I did see CJ play in the dome against Georgetown I think!!
I went to all of Pistol Petes home games, he was "The Man' among boys!
He was good enough to be a Globetrotter when that was really something. If he would have been drafted by a top team, you might be saying Jordan who ?

Was living in Nashville back in the CJ days. Attended a game in Knoxville and witnessed basically a one on one exibition with CJ and Allen Houston from the Vols. Both went off for over 50 apiece. Pretty awesome.

will CJ ever have his jersey retired?

I was a freshman in 86, fun times in the pmac. Football was good too until 88 if memory serves.
Basketball & Football were both good. Football won SEC titles in '86 & '88. Miss the Deaf Dome.
