He's asked directly about if he'd be the OC for LSU if they asked around the 14 minute mark. His response is something along the lines of "Yeah, I'd talk to them".

Wow. We should at least give him a call.

out of respect for pirates and all.

It's an interesting interview none the less. Talks about why he prefers to call games from the field instead of the box, etc.

I've always felt this team didn't have enough pirate enthusiasts...

IDK... If we end up with Leach, LSUFreak is going to have a field day dropping Les and Leach faces on top of Pirates of the Caribbean clips. (And for some reason I bet Les is put on drunken Jack Sparrow)

LSU has recruited towards a pro-style offense the last few years. If Crowton didn't mesh well, how is Leach going to mesh at all?

the past 2 weeks have been insane. I feel like we could get a slam dunk hire right now. To many positives going on.
Strange how the perception of one man can change so fast.
And it has.

call me crazy but this line of thinking does not make sense. aside from a mobile QB what type of athletes does a spread offense have that a pro-style offense doesn't?
eta: i don't want leach in any way and i'm all for a pro style offense, i just dont see the big difference in 'how we've recruited' lately as it pertains to spread vs. pro-style

LSU has recruited offensive linemen and RBs that fit in a physical running game. Leach doesn't exactly do that. And considering Miles' background, I can't see their offensive philosophies meshing too well. It was one thing when Leach was the OC at Oklahoma under a defensive coach. It's quite another coordinating his type of offense under an offensive minded head coach, with a starkly different perception of offensive football.

I'm surprised anyone from ESPN is "allowed" to talk to Leach at all, given the all crap still going on from TxTech. Doesn't he actually have a suit against ESPN right now?

i agree about their offensive philosophies not meshing well which is why i'm totally against leach.
as for pro-style vs spread recruits, offensive line is a wash, the only difference is a mobile qb and smaller, shiftier rbs. we could run the triple option if we wanted to with our stable.

Dude
really?

My point is, what would LSU do with their stable of RBs in an offensive system that never passed the ball less than 65% of the time, going back to Leach's days at Kentucky.
As for offensive lineman, there is a huge learning curve with how Leach lines up his offensive linemen.

So ford or ware couldn't start at texas tech? smaller? In the sec? why do people keep saying these things?

I don't know if Leach would be a good fit or not. But I think his offense is scary when he had no talent.
It was absurd when he had marginal talent.
Whether it's a good fit, or the right fit, i'd be interested to see what he could do with LSU's talent.

I would like to see it, but I really don't think Miles would consider it since he seems to want his say/approval in the playcalling... but who knows, maybe he's up for a change?
He did say in that interview that he would listen if LSU gave him a call asking if he wanted to be OC, but I'm sure he would listen to most right now. He said in the interview that the market for him isn't where it should be bc of the legal situation with Tech
