For those who watched the WWL Juan Kinkaid video....Question

Is it me or when the interview was over it appeared that Les was taking his family to their family car and they were just gonna get in it and just drive off.
I know it probably didn't happen but It just appeared to me that he had no interest to go talk to his team.
Thoughts?

its almost as if he was emotional when Juan asked him if he was staying and Les just sort of paused and looked away. kinda like saying goodbye

yeah.. that interview looked pretty awful for us..
but on the other hand.. he wants to coach in a bigger game than the Cotton Bowl next year.. and he knows he's not going to do that at Michigan

That is a great interview.
Basically he is playing that reporter. He is tired of every body with a mike asking the same dumb questions and he is having a little Les fun.
It is pretty stupid of that reporter to think that he is going to get some sort of an exclusive scoop on the field right after a game.
It is even more stupid to think that there is some hidden meaning to what Les said.

You may be onto something there. However, Les is a tell-it-like-it-is kind of guy, even if you can't always understand what he's saying.
Telling his players he's staying, off of recorded video is one thing. Putting it on the record on video is another. He's not a Saban. I don't think he would intentionally lie about it.

He's gone. It's clear from that interview. That was the most obvious unspoken "no" I've seen from him. He looked away from the camera, paused, and had to search for his pat answer.
Good luck to him. He's really passing on his best chance to win a Natl' Championship without any former coach's shadow calling it into question.

I agree... the video and statement by Alleva suggest that they are stalling for time to possibly look for another LSU coach. If we know Miles.. he doesn't like to fire coaches or leave things unrest unless another replacement or position is available. I know he's leaving because it's his true love for Michigan, but he will not have the success as he did at LSU in my opinion.

He wasn't playing him at all watch it again. Typical Les he doesn't think before he speaks and then BOOM the guy asks him if he will be at LSU next year and Les freezes stumbles and says I really like LSU. Come on guys are you that blind. He is gone

Was almost sure he was gonna stay til I seen this. Now after the way he got kinda choked up I'll be very suprised if he stays.

Here's how I see the video. He is obviously tired of all the questions about Michigan.
When Juan asked him for the third time his reaction was "Cone on dude, can you leave me the frick alone and enjoy this victory?!"

The biggest issue I have with the interview is that right after a BIG LSU win, some fricking a-hole has to stick the microphone into Coach Miles face and make him answer the question. Leave the man alone to savor the victory and then give him the time and space to make the right decision for him and his family.

He could end all of the questions by answering,"yes."

Yes to what? Yes, he is staying or Yes, he is leaving?
What if 30 minutes after the game he didn't know the answer. What, if today, some 36 hours after the game, he still does not know the answer. Why would he say Yes or No when he doesn't know?

Wow. I hadn't seen that video. Classic Les, freeze in front of a camera.
He is so gone. Oh well I am crossing my fingers here comes the dice roll. All the negative a-hole chicken littles get what they've been clamoring for now.

Maybe I'm just being optimistic because I've always liked Miles, but couldn't it have been emotional for him because he's staying? This is probably the last chance he'll get to move over to his alma mater but its happening right when he's staring down another NC or BCS bowl at LSU. So maybe he really is staying, but he's understandably upset that the UM job had to come along at a point in the LSU program when he couldn't leave and feel good about it?

Remember Miles would play poker all night with his Dad at the Vetrans Hall. He has to look like he might leave to tweak his contract. This is the best place for him. He is the best coach for us at this time. He will be here next year.
