What football programs went out and found a head coach with tons of hype and a huge name in the last 10 years and actually signed them?

Alabama and Saban
Michigan and Rich Rod

Florida and Urbz, especially considering ND had an opening that year too.

These two were far and away the biggest hires and paid the most dividends.

Florida and Urban or Saban and Bama

Although it is now 11 or 12 years ago, LSU getting Saban was a huge program changer too.

Not at the time. A lot of people were pissed that LSU was hiring "that guy we beat in the Independence Bowl"

Yes, but success wasn't in his criteria. Based on hype and media coverage I think Weis has to at least be in the discussion.

Edit: but I guess I can't read either since he said head coach.

Same kind of simple minded people like Michigan fans who think Brady Hoke would be a bad hire.

Hoke or Miles would be a good hire by Michigan.

For LSU's sake, I hope Michigan hires Hoke not because I want to keep Miles but because I have little faith in Alleva to find a decent coach to replace Miles.
