Him interview now, take the job and announce it before the game

or

deny interest and end up interviewing after the game and taking the job?

Personally I think if UM is interested and Miles is also I would prefer for him to interview and take the job ASAP. I think it allows him and the players to have a last hurrah (motivation for the team) and LSU to truely begin our search and secure our recruiting class. I realize now it may be a day or two late for it to even matter considering the game it tomorrow.

After all, even those that want him to stay, wouldn't blame him for leaving for this job.

I'd want him to accept, coach the game, then peace it

Announce it before so he can get a good send off. He is a good guy.

I want him out before the bowl game. We would be a lot less likely to lose the game in an embarrassing manner.

This

If he's interested, I'd rather him not interview until after the bowl game though.

Might do the opposite and be kind of a WTF??? by the team and them come out not motivated. See OkState vs. Ohio State in 2005.

Take the job instantly so we aren't in a bind with recruiting and can start our search

Michigan likes Miles but probably not enough to pay him $ 4 million a year. But, why would Miles even want that job when he has one of the top 10 jobs in college football now.

He has the # 7 and rising recruiting class coming in with a young but now experienced team coming back. Tiger fans gained a new respect for Miles when he beat Alabama and Nick Saban.

He will not be leaving LSU.

I hope you are right Bullneck. I think the key: Is Michigan willing to pay?

If they are, Miles will take the job.

If he goes it's not because the thinks that Michigan is better than LSU, it has been his dream job. I don't know why people try to compare and rank the difference between the two. LSU is in better shape but that's not what it would be about for Miles.

Exactly...this is an emotional decision not a rational one. The "want" to be the guy to return Meeeshigan to glory may override the fact that he may have one of his best teams here next year.

I wouldnt mind if he stayed but I surely wouldn't blame him for going. If I were in his shoes I would go. If he stays he is no longer an Michigan man. He's an LSU man and thats a good thing to be.
