Where does it say that the dad thinks he's going to be better in the long run? Phillip Rivers was a huge project out of high school. He got some of the best Qb coaching there is in the game right now in college that helped him develop into what he is today. Stephen probably is a little bit ahead of Phillip at this point. He is in HIGH SCHOOL; he has a long freaking road. Stephen has the best coach possible in Phillip. He'd be an idiot to not learn from him. It's probably has a good bit to do with why he is further ahead in his development.

I'm not saying either way who is better at this stage in their Highschool career. I don't know. I hope he is the best qb we've ever had and he could be, but be smart about quotes. His dad has two sons(that I know of). One is a PRO BOWL QB. The other is a D1"project" recruit. When asked who was more developed at that age, what parent on the planet will say the freakin NFL star? Really? Let me guess, they have a younger brother in middle school that is without a doubt the most polished passer in the family, for a 12 yr old.

I am. I also know that Stephen Rivers had scholarship offers from some of the Best Quarterback coaches in the country. I would say that they aren't just recruiting him for his name.

So exactly where does your logic come from other then you saying his dad is probably "talking up" his son.

One is a PRO BOWL QB. The other is a D1"project" recruit.
And what I'm telling you is that Phillip, at the same comparative age, was considered a bigger project then Stephen is. It's not hard to believe that Stephen is farther a long at this point.

I think a good bit of it was the fact that he was in a run happy offense.
Moreso than that, his team was fricking awful. His WR's were a bunch of stone-hands retards.

This is out of control. I think and hope Rivers is the best QB we ever have. All I'm saying is that with that quote there are people on this site that will watch SD on Sundays and then bitch about Stephen on Mondays. As far as his dad making that statement, there isn't anyway any father says that the older son is better than the younger, unproven, son beginning his football career.

Yet another one of many very good reasons that a new OC should be a huge priority for Coach Miles after the Bowl game--as stated above, the need for a new & good QB coach.

Or he could be telling the truth...quotes from Creasy who also coached both kids..
quote:

Creasy knows both players inside and out. Back during Philip's high school days, he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach working under Steve Rivers, who was the head coach at the time. (He's the QBs coach now.) As a 10th-grader, Philip was a starting linebacker before taking over at quarterback as a junior and senior. "Stephen is taller now than Philip and he throws the ball better than Philip did at the same stage" Creasy said. "But to be fair to Philip, Stephen has had many more opportunities. If we threw the ball 15 times a game it was considered airing it out when Philip was here. "But Stephen has the same physical attributes as Philip. You will never see him make the same two throws in a row. He will do whatever is necessary to make a play, to win a game. They are the same way in that regard. Stephen is very accurate and has unique ability to change motion depending on the throw he has to make, just like Philip. And Stephen is more athletic than Philip. For a 6-7 kid he can move in the pocket."

rivers can't hold Prescott jock strap, saw dak play he is good.

In all fairness, did you see Rivers play and was he bad? If not, is Dak better than every other QB you've never seen play?

Awaits: "Dak doesn't like the way you are talking about Dak!" response

Here's a serious answer to your question. When he visited the LSU camps as a junior he was basically ignored. Mississippi State when after him hard. LSU hardly showed any interest until middle of this season. By then, the deal was done with Mississippi State.

If it was Dak; and it't not. He would have confirmation as that the recruiting experts(you) still don't know shite..

I wish Dak would've switched his commitment over to LSU when given the opportunity but it is now for the better that he sticks with MSU. LSU is in a scholly bind right now and he has a better chance of starting early at MSU. Rivers is perfect for sitting around and learning for 2-3 years and then starting for 2 years.

I think with Mett and Rivers LSU is sitting pretty solid in this class. I've watched Dak play, and he is very solid...I think he fits the MSU scheme perfectly.

Those were highlites late in season; after his knee injury. He would have also rushed for over 1000 yds without the knee injury.

I just hope LSU gets on #2 Damon Gladney early. They waited too long and overlooked Dak until it was too late.

McGee and Franklinton in the end Beat Dak and Bucs in a great come from behind win.
