Think about it:

Physically they're very close in stature. Cam Newton is a year older than JJ; it's safe to predict that Jordan will put a little more bulk on in the coming months. Cam is 6'6", 250 lbs, while Jordan is 6'5 and will probably be 230-240.

They have very similar skill sets. While tentative earlier in his career, over the last half of the season we watched Jordan Jefferson become a decisive and elusive runner. He ran the zone read very well. A few mistakes were made (attributable mostly to him using this play for the first time), but overall he was hard to stop.

JJ passed for nearly 2,200 yards in his sophomore season, so we know the ability is there. He definitely has the want. I think we can expect truly great things from our senior QB this year. Heisman and National Championship are definitely on the table.

Kick some arse JJ!

I think you forgot to mention his lousy footwork and passing "inaccuracy issues"

I want the kid to succeed..but he has had 2 full years running the team as the starter and showed little improvement.

He had 2 really good games this year, and that's it! That's not good enough.

We were ranked 11th in the SEC under JJ.

To think he is going to magically become Cam Newton is pretty funny

I'd rather have Kodi Burns than Jordan Jefferson.

Im not trying to pile on or anything but there's really not much to compare.

To be clear, Cam Newton is a very dominant college player that comes along maybe once in a coach's lifetime, like a Bo Jackson or Hershel Walker or something. By comparison, Jefferson is a below average college QB that would have a hard time starting for a number of mid majors.

Also, I don't really see where they are close in stature. I know JJ's a little bigger than he looks but, he's much smaller than Cam and in addition, one qb throws, breaks tackles, is faster, and can even push the pile way better than the other.

i would love to see this happen, but i highly doubt it will. there's no problem with being optimistic though!

i hope he does continue his improvement from the end of this season. the dude has the potential to play better than he has been. the OC needs to help by having a little more confidence in him by opening up the playbook more so he can throw deeper passes more often.

Yeah, cause that is the main reason he will be as good as Newton!

I think I just had a brain aneurysm.

Look at JJ's quotes, he doesn't think he's doing all that bad and in my opinion isn't coachable. Not saying a better qb coach couldn't get more but I think he's always felt he's got it figured out.
