One person caused 90,000 people to show up for a spring game in Tuscaloosa a couple of years ago and their excitement was realized last year.
Sure, Mett is causing some excitement because of his potential to play at merely a competent level.
But factoring in the sh*tload of talent surrounding Mett on offense, defense, & special teams, this team as a whole has all the earmarks of a national title contender.
Who wouldn't show up to see a preview of that?

Now that Mettenberger has committed, if Miles fires Crowton (and I still believe he will) then I think you could see a monster turnout.

High expectations? If he is just adecent QB we will be 10000x better on offense. Its not like we think he is the second coming of Jesus decked out in Purple and Gold; he is just a decent QB that we think will be able to run and manage this offense in a way no QB on the current roster has be able to do.

I don't really see 90k. You would have to really have no life and pretty much be a pack of losers for 90k to attend a spring game.

Call it insane, but when Bama puts 90,000 in the stands for their spring game, year after year, and LSU has maybe 25,000, it can be a negative recruiting tool to impressionable high schoolers.
It wouldn't kill anyone to go to a free event to help the recruiting effort if nothing else. Over here in Alabama, the crowd attendence is made into a huge deal in all the Alabama papers. It'd be nice to be able to give that same hype in La. papers if LSU fans filled the stadium. I hate to see Bama beat us at ANYTHING.

I would highly suggest going to the spring game if you really want to see the kid take snaps within the next 365 days. Miles has done nothing in his years here to make me believe the kid has any realistic chance of starting next season no matter what he does in practice or in the spring game.
