I have a carton of fresh mushrooms that I'll have to throw away if I don't use them soon....

I am making a chicken/sausage gumbo this afternoon....

never seen mushrooms in a gumbo, but should I throw them in to give it a try?....

You can toss the kitchen sink into gumbo. I am sure those shrums will be great in there.

Most all of Folse's gumbo recipes include mushrooms. I personally leave them out..

I love mushrooms. I definitely think I'd enjoy them in a gumbo.

I guess it depends on how mush room you have in your gumbo.

I think it would be awesome. Never had mushrooms in gumbo or even thought about it, but now that I do it sounds pretty legit...

I say go for it if you like mushrooms. I don't think they will add any overpowering flavor to the pot. If you don't like mushrooms toss them in the trash.

The only gumbo rule I know is potato salad must be kept at least 500' away. Put those things in.
