What do you think are the top beer countries? By top countries, I mean in terms of quality - not consumption.

1. USA- we make every style of beer here at a very high quality.
2. Belgium- Many, many, many small breweries here and they make great beer....probably 3 or 4 of the best beers in the world. But variety doesn't stack up against USA.
3. Netherlands- You can get all the great belgian beers here as well as great Dutch trappist and abbey beers. And they have a pretty good craft brew scene.
4. Denmark- Denmark has a local craft brew scene comparable to the USA. Mikkeler is Danish. But beers cost about $10 each over there.
5. UK- Pretty good variety of styles produced here.
6. Czceh- great Pilsners but not much else.
Most over rated- Germany- Lagers are boring. Scharwzerbier (sp) is ok.

This may be the case but I think that they have just as big of a local beer scene that other countries do. The quality of the beers are great as well. They may be boring styles but I think that the craftsmanship is something to admire.

i dont know if it would be listed super high, but I'm thinking France is underrated. Along the border of Germany they drink a lot of beer, but there are small breweries throughout the country that are good (took several trips to an artisanal beer shop in paris and got to see/taste a bunch).
also i've heard there is a growing interest in Italy, at least the Rome area

Am I missing the boat on some sort of great Mexican craft beer movement?
I've never seen anything but fairly big market and fairly ordinarily produced beers out of Mexico. While there's nothing wrong with that, and some of those are no doubt quality beers, it seems rather perplexing seeing them being held out as better than what I've seen out of the U.S., the U.K., or a place like Belgium.
Is there something I'm not aware of that people are basing this high regard on Mexico for, or do people really thing Dos Equis and Modelo are better than Belgian Trappist ales?
