Please continue signing this. As many have said, it probably won't make any difference at all, but at least it gets the message across that many of us don't want Cap1 this year.

We only have a couple days left while bowl discussions are ongoing.

Six pages into this thread, including 29 posts from you alone, no one has even mentioned what should be the most important consideration in choosing a Bowl destination (if a choice is available).

Anyone ever thought about what the PLAYERS want ???

Bowl games are supposed to be a reward for the team first, the fans second. Though one would not know it from this thread. Pretty much a "me, me" attitude.

The Capital One Bowl is very well-known for putting on about the best player-friendly schedule of activities of all the bowls, including the BCS bowls. When I used to live there, they offered teams a variety of choices, to go along with a few joint-activities with the other team. Supposedly, they make adjustments when a team is a repeat visitor in a span of 1-3 years, to kep the Bowl activities "fresh" for players who have been there before.

If the players prefer Cotton, I'm aboard , even though I like New Year's Day football.

But if the players want to go back to Florida, I think any attempt to sidetrack that because of your interests as a fan is doing a disservice to the team.

And yes, I have been to the Capital One Bowl three times, 2 of them to watch the Tigers (Iowa, Wake Forest). I have also traveled to cheer on the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl three times, the Gator Bowl, the Outback Bowl and the Orange Bowl.

Email sent:

This purpose of this email is to express my voice and opinion as to LSU's bowl prospects. Though I know the decision ultimately begins with the Capital One Bowl committee, I hope and pray this powers that be at LSU will do whatever they can to secure a bid to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. This would be good for the program and LSU fan base, which is very well represented throughout Texas, especially the DFW market. This is what the fans want, and this is what our program needs. It makes sense recruiting-wise, money-wise, and fan-wise.

Thank you for our consideration and taking the time to read this email.

Great points, and I agree that what the players want/desire should certainly be taken into account. Feel free to gather quotes from players on what bowl they want, I welcome that and would love to know what they are thinking. But this is a fan site, for fan's opinions.

I highly doubt the players are "veto-ing" the Cotton Bowl, though. Both bowls lay out the red carpet for their participants.

If we play Texas A&M or Nebraska then I'm all in. It still pisses me off that we lost to our last Cotton Bowl to Texas. Let's go get a Cotton Bowl for our trophy case. Besides, I think our Seniors would enjoy a chance to play in Jerry's World.

My brother and sister went to UT...so we had a mixed group at that game, we all sat together right on the line where LSU fans crossed over into Texas fans. I was pretty pissed as well with the outcome.

I think it's funny that Texas isn't even going bowling this year.

I was about to post something like you suggested. I agree with you. I wish that the players could make their collective vote make known to those who make the selections. Have teams not declined to participate in certain consolation bowl games in the past due to being slighted. I think so. I know that is not quite the same thing. I have only
attended the Sugar and Independence Bowls so I am going anyway but it should be a reward for the team members.
