Not a word but a phrase, "He plays the game the way it was supposed to be played." That's so stupid and subjective. Also when someone says one team "wants it more than the other." If that were the case the team who supposedly didn't want it as much wouldn't even had shown up

Bedlam

Only comes up like 3 times a year, when OU and Okie St play in football and basketball. If you aren't in Oklahoma, how do you hear it enough to get tired of it?

Because this is one of the three times a year that it comes up. Just like when they call the Florida/Georgia game "The world's largest outdoor cocktail party" or Texas/OU the Red River Shootout. It's the name of the game they play, that's why it's being said.

Trickeration (It's not even a fricking word.)

"The running back gets stronger as the game goes on."

The point is it's a phrase I'm tired of hearing which was the purpose of the thread. Didn't ask for an explanation. Was looking for other words/phrases people are tired of.

"If he didn't (trip/make that tackle/slip) he'd STILL be running!"

Never mind the safety that was standing 5 yards away ready to light him up.

There's no doubt about it that the most often used phrase is no doubt about it and I'm confident to say that there's no doubt about it.

Back-shoulder throw. Anyone that watches football knows what it is by now. You don't have to explain to us every single freakin' time what it is.

And if Tim Brando says "fly in the ointment" one more time...
