I don't walk people to the stand. I point them in the direction and if they get lost then they shouldn't be hunting.

It's pretty simple for me to say "Your stand is 500 yards straight ahead on the left. It's a giant 20ft box stand. The lock is on the door, but it is unlocked." If they don't see a giant tower then they aren't very bright.

Line the inside of box with carpet. Walls, floors, and ceiling and this problem does not exist.

If I'm hunting a wheatfield or a clearing, I will listen to my Ipod or surf the interwebs. If I'm hunting in the woods, it's usually just the interwebs. I used to bring a book, but I found out that it seemed like I kept getting surprised by deer that while reading it.

Also, if need be, I sleep.

What's wrong with a box stand? We have both ladder stands that we move around and fixed box stands.

Is duck hunting from a blind not hunting?

Yeah stalking in south LA is not really an effective option like it is in other parts of the country.

Stalking isn't really effective in North La either, with most of the land now pine thickets.

If somebody stalks on my property and actually shoots a damn deer I would laugh. My deer are scared of their own shadow and watching someone walk through the woods hunting would make me laugh.

I consider it to be part of good hunting. If I want to shoot a buck now, I'm gonna hunt the woods. No Ipod/Iphone/Magazine etc.

During the rut when they are on the move, I like to be in a field so I can see more area.

Early in the season when I want to shoot a doe I sit in a box stand and pick off does as the come to my food plot.

When I want to hunt all day, I need the distractions for an hour here and there.

I just put lock ons 25 feet up in the tree and when its windy the tree moves enough to keep me entertained...due to me being extremely scared of heights
