I will tell you what I told the Times-Pic. We as a station discussed this story before we went forward. I know the sources and where his information came from. I have no reason to believe that his sources would not be telling the truth. They certainly wouldn't seem the type to have a grudge with the team or Drew Brees. To us, the bigger part of the story was that Drew was viewed as over-medicated for the Browns game by these sources. The injury was secondary. My job as VP of Operations is to make sure that we as a station have our ducks in a row. In this particular instance I feel that we are correct in what we reported, especially in regards to the medication issue. I understand as a Saints fan that you want only the best for the team. I am a native of Louisiana and love this city and that team as much as anyone. Trust me when I tell you that we check and double-check something like this before we go forward. On the Kenny situation. We understand the dislike (to be kind) many people in this city have for Kenny. Kenny has been in this business for along time and whenever someone is in the media for that length of time, baggage builds up and you learn that sometimes you've got to carry those bags. Kenny is on at certain times for a specific reason and we feel he works hard. We offer, in my opinion, the BEST local talk found in New Orleans on a daily basis. Those shows are our bellcows and we hope you like those shows and continue to give them a listen when you have a chance. Thanks for the email

Dan, the station manager, is a decent guy and is legit. However, this story smells to high heaven. Having reviewed more than one story over the years both in print and broadcast media for potentially actionable allegations, I have to say that something about the wording in this one bothers me. Plus, if anyone thinks Wilkerson's motives are rooted purely in good journalism, he or she is smoking crack.

Probably a little overstated. But he's a local sportscaster whose star was burning fairly brightly. He pissed of the current Saints regime for talking out of school. The Saints bannished him from any direct contact and he was fired from the Saints flagship station in New Orleans. Now he's on another smaller station and stirring up shite.

At least I think the foregoing is in the ballpark.

Former Saints sideline reporter who was fired, possibly on the urging of Sean Payton. Regardless, he now hates Payton more than words can express and has spent the past few years slinging various shite about the organization.

He was also responsible for the Jeremy-Shockey-kicked-a-coke-machine-and-is-going-to-be-fined nonsense of a year ago.

What's galling about KW is that he now justifies his insane hatred as being a form of journalistic integrity, despite the now documented truth that when Jim Haslett was the Saints' coach Kenny kept all kinds of explosive shite secret.
