I'm by no means an old fan (28), but Jesus how young are some of you? LSU has passed out pompom's before. I can't recall exact games (Tennesse in '00 was definately one) but i know its been a few times this decade.
And they look awesome every time.

The LSUAD has been passing out Pom Poms for big TV games since the 70's. Don't know where you people have been all these years. It looks pretty good when everybody in the stadium has a gold "Shaker" and am mystified as to why this bothers some of you. Guess some of those that aren't secure in their masculinity feel threatened by waving a shaker at a football game.........

Making a comment on a message board =/= worrying so much about other people. I do have a little concern for any man of at least high school age who carries around his own pom pom though. That's just weird.
And, I'm cool with an organized pass out done by the school at the gates. I've participated in these at LSU in the past. But, I don't bring my pom pom home with me and back the next week.

LSU has given out them for a long time. I'm suprised our fans don't use them more. Aside from Penn State, I think it's a SEC thing.

This was the Auburn game in 2003. This was the Gold Game and at night on ESPN. We beat the crap out of Cadillac and Ronnie Brown. One of my favortie games in Tiger Stadium.
The pom poms were only in the student section.
