To all short-sighted individuals who want to get rid of Les Miles

When the man had the balls to kick the SECCG MVP, a thug, off of the team, you applauded him.
Since the man started recruiting in 2005, he's brought in classes ranked by Rivals at #22, 7, 4, 11, 2, 6, and currently at #4 for 2011, and you applauded him.
When he started he worked a crowd of boosters by bashing USC’s 2007 schedule and claimed we had a new rival in “Ala-frickin-bama!” you went crazy with approval. “Who do I make the check out to?” you said.
With the number 1 ranking on the line, the man had the balls to go for it on fourth down against Florida when a field goal would’ve tied it. “Hell yeah!” you said, “We’re LSU! We go for the win!” Lesticles, you said.
With a 39 yard field goal for the win, the man calls for throw to the end zone and number 2 hauls it in, right in front of the erupting student section. “Fear the hat!,” you said.
When the man gave his Herbie go to hell presser and was excited about his “Damn strong football team,” you remarked, “Les sure has a way with words.” “Up your’s, Big Blue,” you gloated. “The Mad Hatter is ours!”
When the man held the crystal ball above his head, you thought, “This is how it should be.” When he said, “Woooooeeeeh!” to start his presser, you laughed along with the reporters. LSU, the only school with a pair of balls, you said.
When the man started a freshman at QB near the end of 2008 and went on to dismantle Georgia Tech, you said, “We’ve got our QB for the next three years! Les can sure bring in the talent.”
When the man brought in the Chief to correct the co-DC experiment, you said, “Les is loyal, but he knows when to cut his losses.”
Then one day, someone said, “Les sure does say some strange things when they thrust a mic in his face.” The bumbling idiot was born; stuttering John.
Then he had an unexcusable meltdown in Oxford and made the Right Revend Nutt look like a genius in front of his slobering, inbred, Red Cup Rebels. The national media had a field day.
Then he kept the OC that seems more intent on proving that it’s HIS schemes that win, HIS brains, and HIS talents instead of the alpha male atheletes on the field.
And now the man has assembled two thirds of a national championship calibre football team; a team on the rise, and you want him gone. Defense is greasy good, and young. PP7 is a freak of nature with the ball. But “Fire Les Miles!” you say.
Then, the Chief’s defense becomes so dominant that it makes the offense look pathetic. “Bench JJ!” you said. “Start Lee!” Never mind that if he benches JJ, he gouges his confidence completely and irrevocably; and then we have Lee, and no back up. Instead, Les rotates him in the game…Lee and the team respond. Playmakers catch the ball, the OL is a wall. Maybe Les knows something we don’t about QB confidence.
Team strength is largely cyclical. Where are some of the power houses we shared the spotlight with during the last few years: Texas, Georgia, USC, Tennessee?
My point is that Les Miles is a good coach who has some faults. He is a competent QB away from national contention, and we may have found him. He has a great defense, crazy special teams, good, young OL, and a beast for a RB, and continues to stock the cupboard. Why the hell call for his replacement when LSU is on the rise? Just because he says stupid things off the top of his head? Wears his hat too high? Yeah, yeah, the clock thing…no excuses….but he will get rid of Crowton at the end of this year.
Most of Les’s problem with fans is that he not Saban. I can promise you this though, Saban’s not available.
Rally ‘round Tigers, and man up. There’s more rocky times ahead for these young men and their leader, but they’re on the rise. Support your team and their coach.

He made or allowed a middle school coaching mistake to happen yesterday. I'm a possitiger, but that is ridiculous. He had his chance to get rid of Crowton last year and kept him. If Miles has to go to get Crowton out so be it.

Doesnt mean shite if you can't perform with the talent.

How about we are a competent coach away from SEC title contention.
How about when Les lies in post game press conferences. How about when Les costs us the tenesee game had it not been for T bob snapping the ball to bail him out.

Is there another team in the history of college football who had 3 clock management debacles within the span of 8 games?
Posted on 10/3/10 at 4:45 pm to jeffreylove
All those attributes and he still can't get a fundamental part of the game right, one that will lose games quicker than anything else.
You and every other positard needs to be banned because at this point defending Les is flaming
Why don't you go vote in the ESPN "dumbest mistake Les has made" poll, or read the comedy article on Yahoo...you think those guys are short-sighted?

Did you see the Ole Miss game last year? Did you see the game yesterday?

Just for the record, I was embarressed and shocked when he made that quote.
I applaud your enthusiasm but that game yesterday should not have been close.
His record against Alabama, Florida, and Ole Miss the last couple of years speaks for itself.

How about it will cost over 10 million dollars to buy out his contract and what kind of message does it send that we would dump a 5-0 record coach in the middle of the season. Is there a competent coach out there that would come to LSU under those circumstances? The national media would eat us up and make us the laughing stock of college football. We need to sit back and wait to see what the CEO of our football team does at the end of the season. Now is not the time to be calling for a mutiny.
