I continue to move in the wrong direction and the crawfish boil I am headed to won't help.

The good news is that I have all the family/friend planned cheats out of the way so I should be able to have a MUCH better May. April was a mess.

Damn Superior grill got me. Had a steak, rice, tortilla soup, and went crazy on the chips and salsa. One lunch and I'm over my daily limit of calories.

About a year ago, I said good bye to the 160's. Summer's coming and close to being back to the 140's. no complaints at this moment.

The gain from this weekend could have been worse, being that everything was fried food for the rehersal and the wedding. I managed to get a 3 mile run in yesterday and 2 miles today. 3 more weeks to my 5K and things are right on schedule.
Heres to a good week coming up

It still will move pretty fast, besides plateaus/.

I was watching Dr. Oz the other day while I was in a waiting lobby, and he was giving tips on dieting and such, and he said that low fat diets don't have the dreaded 'low carb plateau'.... Why is this guy a doctor and allowed to say such asinine things on TV? EVERYONE hits plateaus because your body adjusts to what you're doing and your new weight(s).. Body builders who are gaining weight hit plateaus, too. What an ignorant statement. That pissed me off, that such misinformation can be spread at will.

H, its okay. we only have nonplateaus here anyway. and they're not dreaded, they're expected.

I have a question for you diet veterans. What do you do in the event of a crawfish boil that you have to attend. Avoid all the potatoes and corn and such and just eat a small amount of crawfish? I'll have to avoid my favorite crawfish beverage as well.

Yeah, the first two years, I avoided the potatoes and corn. I still ate some garlic and shrums.

Yesterday, I ate everything that wasn't nailed down.

You deserve to treat yourself a little. I've been treating myself for 25 years.

Is crawfish going to derail me that badly?

On a low carb diet, crawfish is fine. Steer clear of potatoes and corn. Mushrooms, onions, garlic would be fine (although I'd steer clear of garlic because I enjoy people being in my presence, and garlic doesn't coincide with that )

It won't set you back very far heatom.. You will see MASSIVE gains from water retention from the hideous amounts of sodium in crawfish boils, but a few days and that'll be gone.

as far as beer goes, if you can tolerate mich ultra you can have a few and be okay. Mich ultra has unfortunately become my go-to beer since I can have a few and not totally destroy my diet... but I really dislike it.

Yeah, if you stick to crawfish and water you will be fine. It won't mess with your low carb diet, but the water weight might mess with your head a bit.

Even though our pal sensei Lester disbelieves in water weight, it is real and it can BOUNCE up and down in LARGE numbers if you low carb and low sodium diet.
