Bought a 1911 a few months and love it.

Hopefully I will be able to purchase an AR15 within the next year or so.

Just bought a 1911 and really enjoy it. I want a nice over/under shotgun and a AR. Actually my next gun related purchase will be a nice gun safe.

not all are full auto. M4 is semi auto or 3 round burst while the M4A1 has the full auto capability. They are all based on the AR15 design created by Armalite and sold to Colt. M16 was the Colt military version of the rifle, while AR-15 was reserved as the name of the rifle marketed to civilians (semi-auto only) and a name owned by Colt. M4 however is not a copyrighted name and can be used by anyone in the branding of their rifle. So, while it might be called an M4 it is still technically an AR-15 and why the nickname M4gery (M-forgery) has been given to the 16" variation of the AR-15.

as far as M1A1 goes, is was used at the beginning of a handful of different weapons/vehicles some that come to mind are the Abrams, flamethrower, carbine, and thompson machine gun.

Got a Taurus "judge" a few months ago. .45/410 3" 6 shot revolver. Stictly for fun, can't do much with it, but pretty cool. Packs a punch.

I think that he meant M1-A. Springfield Armory makes a nice one in Mossy Oak trim. 7.62 X 51 mm - 308 Winchester.

It's the Scout model with 18" barrel. It was about $1600 IIRC. I traded a NIB Rem 700 with a 26" heavy varmint barrel and paid cash for the rest.

That rifle would be number one on my list if I had the cash to just blow.

Wrong way of thinking bro, you've got to consider it as an investment.

I love my "new" smith and wesson model 66 .357. I would keep an eye out for one if you like stainless. If you prefer blued, the model 19 is the same gun.
