When you kill your first deer do you really drink its blood?

Like they do in the movie Red Dawn? Or is that just a movie thing?

No
But it's tradition to "blood" the person who killed their first deer by smearing the deer's blood all over their face.

My dad didn't "blood" me, but he made me skin it by myself. By the time I was done, I probably had more blood on me than anyone would have put.

I ejaculated onto the deer carcass FWIW

But nah, a little smear at the kill site where we found it and cleaned it myself like someone else said. I still have the tail. It stunk for a couple years, but its petrified now.

I didn't get "bloodied" but I had to help clean it. So I guess I was bloodied per say

My brother shoved my entire head inside the ribcage before we had removed all the organs. My entire head was covered in blood. He also busted the piss sack all over me.

The camp I belong to had a tradition of sticking your head into the chest cavity to be bloodied. One year this rich MF'er joined up and got his first deer about two weeks in. He whined and moaned that he wasn't going to do it and finally everyone backed off. A few weeks later his spoiled kid got his first and whined to his dad the same way and dad said he didn't have to. Next year, the rich guy had 3 of his friends join up....I walked away from that club. Some things are just part of hunting.

The first deer I killed I gut shot it and had to clean it myself. I was covered in blood when I got done. Had I not been I wouldve got the ceremonial blood stripe across the forehead.

my stepdad's buddy did this to me when I killed my first buck.

I had the blood smeared on my face and had to wear its nut sack around my neck while skinning it.

We also have a rule that if a person, usually a kid, misses their first dear, they get their shirt-tail cut off. Kind of stupid to me, wasting good hunting clothes and all...

I've heard of several people doing that. Not something I've ever partaken in though.
I killed a doe first, so I got blooded for my first deer (doe) and my first buck.
