Ha, well I guess if we wanna keep the theme of playing teams we really have nothing to do with regionally, why not the MAC? LOL. We've had a LITTLE history with Northern Illinois in the past, including the recent Independence Bowl, but otherwise yeah it'd be more of the same... No one's floated that idea yet though, probably 'cause they have enough teams already.

La Tech, ULL, and ULM ALL have D 1-AA facilities and are nothing more than pumped up D 1-AA programs. There is no difference in any your programs other than Tech and ULL fans THINKING they are one of the somewhat big boys.

Maybe this will score points with the ULL fans here, but... ULL was never even in D1-AA, arse-hat.

What you don't realize is that UL is a bigger school than Tech with a bigger endowment. Tech is not on some different level.
Tech's enrollment - 8700
UL's enrollment - 14800
Tech's endowment - $47,409,922
UL's endowment - $54,213,335
As far as athletics --
Current Tech players in the NFL -
Hiram Eugene
Jonathan Holland
Luke McCown
Dennis Morris
Josh Scobee
D'Anthony Smith
Tramon Williams
Current Cajuns players in the NFL -
Michael Adams
Jason Chery
D'Anthony Batiste
C.C. Brown
Hall Davis
Jake Delhomme
Kyries Hebert
Brandon Stokley
Ike Taylor
Charles Tillman
Football records over the past 4 years
UL 21-27
Louisiana Tech 20-30
neither are good, I just don't see where you get this superiority myth.

Henderson... Nice job using Tech's undergrad enrollment or whatever. Also a lot of our money comes from straight research grants and patent royalties. That being said, ULL and Tech are pretty good schools in general and are essentially on par with each other. We're talking sports here. Yes, obviously this decade has been atrocious for Tech football, no shite. LSU's football was a joke for a while too, but you didn't see them just fold and give up either. They were every bit as hardcore as they are now and would never have bowed to the other in-state schools. I wouldn't be here talking any smack with ULL if they weren't bringing up Tech to begin with, so um... yeah, you need to chill.

You become more and more of a pussy the further we get into this thread...lol

Alright apparently you're just getting off on being anti-Tech trolls and nothing else. Have fun entertaining yourselves. frick this thread.

I also used our undergraduate enrollment, so it's not like I was trying to skew the facts.
I'm not saying Tech should fold and quit, I'm saying the fans should quit acting like they're something that they aren't. By all means, strive for greatness but don't pretend to be great when you aren't.

How am I being a troll if I just laid down some solid facts?

Tech is only other state school in LA I would let my kids attend...
What are the series records between Tech, ULL and ULM?

One prereq may have been to try and convince LSU to go to Ruston and play ball, since it has never happened, and now it looks even worse after last season's close call.

NFL Hall of Famers
Grambling (4) Junious (Buck) Buchanan , Willie Davis , Charlie Joiner , Willie Brown
LSU (3) Y.A. Tittle , Steve Van Buren , Jim Taylor*
LA Tech (2) Terry Bradshaw , Fred Dean
Northwestern LA (1) Jackie Smith
ULL (who?)
ULM (who?)
Take a back seat to Grambling, and LSU's budget is roughly 10 times that of Tech's, but Northwestern?

What does that have to do with La Tech's current state?
Brian Mitchell will probably be in the Hall of Fame at some point

not to mention that Delhomme and Stokley's careers have vastly outshined those of Tim Rattay and whatever his receivers name was.

For fun I figured I'd respond to Sportcat. Actually LSU has lost in Ruston, though it was like 100 years ago. LSU has played in Ruston 5 times, but it's ancient history. Tech's only played LSU 3 times since World War II, so we don't have much of a relationship with them in football. Our #1 rival really was Southern Miss until we started playing out West so much, but that has been rekindled for this season, and we have a long series with Mississippi State as well.
I'd like to add that I figure Willie Roaf will get into the NFL Hall of Fame soon too.
We'd have to massively improve ourselves and enlarge our stadium now in Ruston to get LSU to come there, but I could at least "fathom" the idea of LSU playing in Shreveport. However the likelihood of Tech and LSU even playing again anytime soon in the future is pretty much zero after Tech had to pretty much gift-wrap the game at the end and hand it to LSU last year. Too close for comfort, and personally I wouldn't blame LSU. They're just lookin' out for #1, right? I'd rather we just build on our program enough to where eventually LSU decides they need to take us down a notch to help recruiting, and we're a loooong way off from that, so I just don't see many Tech-LSU matchups in the near future.
That's how we feel about ULM/ULL somewhat, but not to the same extent. Some feel we have nothing to gain by playing them, and no one wants to help sell tickets to a ULM game in our fanbase. I personally don't have a problem playin' the game every now and then though. It was Derek Dooley who said we were too elite to play ULM. I don't think we shouldn't ever play, but we at least currently aren't competing for recruits, and that's a fact. We compete with C-USA and we pick at a few SEC and Big-12 recruits too from time to time.
Record vs ULL: 46-33-6 Last loss to ULL in 1996
Record vs ULM: 29-14 Last loss to ULM in 1989
Most points scored on an FBS team = ULL, and as recently as 1998 we beat them 77-14.
