According to Jamsion Hensley of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens may be willing to trade running back Willis McGahee because of their growing confidence in Jalen Parmele, who should get a large number of carries in Thursday night's preseason opener.

Currently the No. 3 on the running back depth chart, Parmele is a near-certainty to make the team.

With their banged up secondary, the Ravens could use some help and trading McGahee might help them land a little assistance.

I wouldn't want to offer anything big for him when we can find guys for cheap in FA ala Pierre Thomas.

You can never have too many capable corners, as we know from experience. RB's are a dime a dozen.

Great idea, Chadboi. See if the Cowboys want to do Demarcus Ware for Usama Young also.

not too bad. I've forwarded the tought of how bad the Ravens need DBs previously.

My idea in the other thread (which I like the return ratio on more)-

A guy I thought they were going to draft in '08 was Rashad Jennings. He's not vital in Jax & they have terrible WRs. One of the WRs we cut could prolly be a starter for them. I'd offer anyone after 12, 15, 16, 17, & 19 + PJ Hill.

jaguars.com today-

I haven't heard much about Rashad Jennings. How has he done in camp so far?

Vic: He’s got the best hands of any running back on the team. Hey, he may have the best hands on the whole team, period. Because Jennings is such a big back, everybody cast him as a power runner, but what I’m seeing now is that his strong suit is catching passes out of the backfield. There’s a lot more Lenny Moore in Jennings than there is Jerome Bettis. Jennings naturally likes having the ball thrown to him in space. It works for me.

I think less than a third corner. I'm not saying don't do it. I'm just saying make sure there's no Pierre Thomas sitting on someone else's roster who will probably be let go in a couple of weeks.

I mean, yea we lucked out with Pierre Thomas, but its not like we can just go find a scrub that turns into something good whenever we want.

Jennings would be a good pick up.

McGahee is 6' 232, 28(29 in October) and on a heavy decline
Jennings is 6'1" 231, 25(same age as Reggie and PT) and most likely hasn't reached his potential yet.

For those reasons, Jennings probably won't be as cheap(even though he was just a 7th rounder)

I wouldn't mind an Arrington +7th for him.

nobody wanted Mike Bell and he worked out okay also. The 3 road graders we have in the middle can make anyone look better.

Yea, we lucked out with a few FA pickups and and a draft choice here and there. But people just think we can do it whenever we want, and thats simply just not true in the NFL.

It really depends on what the ravens want. But the FA is full of guys waiting on a shot to prove they are good enough to play. Bring guys in for try outs and go from there. I think we could find someone there who can fill the void. The saints were content with Hamilton who isn't anything special so why trade for an injured prone McGahee who 2 years ago was fight for carries with McClain.

i.e. we'll see if we can get something for willis before possibly cutting him at the end of camp

The Saints are deep with talent at several positions. It is not unreasonable to think they might make a trade prior to final cut-down in order to ensure they get a RB3 they like.

Jacksonville is certainly a possibility but you hate to improve a division rival.

Jacksonville has only been around since like 94 or 95...they are far too young for the coastal division.

Maybe dude got Tampa and Jax mixed up somehow
