but to be honest they have been slipping lately, got some tuna from them last week that was not near as fresh as it used to be, and there were no smiles in the place

The oil spill didn't help matters...but I think the wholesale business got stiffed by some companies that went out of business when the economy tanked.

dreadful news. I would go in and get a couple of 12 inch po-boys and eat on the halves throughout the week.

I hate to see any businesses closing. It's sad. I went once. Had a helluva time finding it. The location definitely stunk. I must have gotten there at a bad time because there was not much to choose from with regard to fresh seafood. I was looking for fish and crabmeat. Bought 10 pounds of nice fresh shrimp, though, at a good price. I bought some frozen seafood gumbo. Too blond for my taste.

You Baton Rouge schmucks made fun of Johnny's Pizza closing years ago, but you obviously have forgotten that it was set up in B.F.E. The same applies with Off the Hook. The place has very good food, it was just set up in a terrible place. Hopefully the owners move their business to a different area of town.

frick I was there at least once a week for hot plates.

That shrimp poboy was one of the best I've ever had.

Should have supported them more. Nothing worse then your favorite lunch place closing.
