it's crazy. donovan excelled on a mid-upper tier side in the EPL and proved that he can be a game changer on the world stage. it's crazy because you can conceive donovan in city's lineup. who's going to take his place? stephen ireland? frick he cold easily displace shaun wright phillips as a winger and that's not in his prime skill set.

I really hope Donovan can reach the level of competing on an elite level. he's capable and worthy of it.

Story has gotta be BS. Donovan is the type of player City would pursue before they got rich, not now. That'd be great if it was true though; then they can give up their pursuit of Milner.

too afraid of city bringing in like 8 players with a slightly better pedigree than donovan. oil sheiks are unpredictable.

+1000000
why do we do these things to ourselves? I just met a United fan the other day, and he just laughed at me when I said I hated Robinho. He actually said, "maybe Landy's the answer" Oh God

It could be City thought the 2nd best thing to having an American on the team for the summer tour, was a rumour about trying to sign an American.

I don't see it happening.

so the baltimore sun has inside info? The downside of having money is you are going to be linked to every transfer rumor. Even if it were true, Landon should be somewhere where he is an everyday player. City already have SWP, Adam Johnson, Stephen Ireland, and bellamy who all can/do play wing. Landon doesn't want to fight for time against these guys. City need and are buying elite quality.

I doubt it will happen, but I think it could work. He's at least as good as SWP and Bellamy. AJ on the left, Silva in the middle, and Landon on the right...

MLS will not let him go. He's their poster boy and marquee player.

I think the LA owner already said he will do all he can to keep Donovan.

Donovan will go for the right price. At current exchange rates, a 7 million pound bid would be $10 million USD. Certainly the MLS will part for that.

He's easily better than Bellamy and maybe SWP. I also think he's better than Ireland but that may just be my inner hatred for Stephen.

Um, no.
Only in that he can play every game and Bellamy's knees are banged up.
Look at what Bellamy did against United at Old Trafford last year. There is NO way LD could own an EPL game like that.
