OU and Arkansas could then become a day after Thanksgiving 'rivalry', while LSU resumes their natural and historical rivalry with A&M.

I'd replace Miami with Clemson, but I like it.

I agree. It would be pretty easy to just make UT and A&M an OOC game every year, because you know they're still going to play.

Might take away from the rivalry a bit, but I think they would still hate each other just as much.

I'm actually hoping for:

Texas, A&M, FSU and North Carolina. Miami/Va Tech would be okay also instead of UNC.

miami is not really that appealing. garbage gameday environment and we already have the big dog in florida. would rather have va tech.

Awesome...

With the addition of da U, the swagger coefficient in the SEC will reach MAXIMUM.

Exactly the rationale Slive needs to use to make this decision. FACT.

The only change I would make to that would be Florida St and Clemson/Ga Tech. I dont like the Miami thing. I would rather one of the other two schools.

that's EXACTLY what I want. Or UNC instead of Miami (pipe dream, but humor me)

Agree

To some extent people are outsmarting themselves with all the schools being bandied about

What makes a school significant or worth watching to someone on the other side of the country? Name recognition and success.

OU, FSU, and Miami obviously have that - teams like Ga Tech, Clemson, and even Va Tech do not. A&M makes a helluva a lot of sense for making Texas more SEC country and opening up more Texas media markets

Texas/TAMU/OU to the West.

Auburn/Alabama/Va Tech to the East.

Texas would not allow A&M and Okie to be in a different conference. They would maybe agree to play one as an ooc, but no way do they play both of those as ooc games.

This is why A&M and UT won't split. From orangebloods.com, which is a great source. Texas and A&M had a private meeting today, and I'll bet the farm it wasn't about splitting up.

quote:

The exodus west by half of the Big 12 has started. Colorado was the first to make it official. The Buffaloes won't be the last. Also on Thursday, Texas and Texas A&M were meeting alone together in the morning, according to sources, before also having a meeting in the afternoon with Texas Tech and Baylor officials. If Texas and Texas A&M are on the same page in their meeting about going to the Pac-10, then the second meeting - with Texas Tech and Baylor - could be the courtesy notifation to BU officials that the other Texas schools in the Big 12 South are moving on.
