I am against expansion. Going beyond 12 teams for any conference is not a good idea.

on college football now yesterday the story was that the PAC 10 was fully ready to offer Texas, A&M, Oklahomo, Okla. St. , Texas Tech, and Colorado spots in the pac 10, making it a 16 team super conference....
One of the writers from Austin was breaking it down, that Texas has no interest in the SEC, (for obvious reasons, why go from a perennial power to possibly a 2 loss team every year) and has no interest in being the southern boundary of the big 10...fwiw.

You know, when I think of Texas I think of the Pacific Coast.
I don't understand this need to go to super-super conference size. It will end up not being a great strategy.

o way they give up rivalries like Texas/Oklahoma or North Carolina/Duke

A teams can have rivalries out of conference (see FSU-Fla) B Texas and OU have only been in the same conference since 1996, but have played for over 70 years.

so change the name, it would basically be the Big 12 S (with CU instead of Baylor) + Arizona. with the original Pac 8 in another division.

$$$$$

The Pac 16 would make way more revenue get better TV exposure than either the Pac 10 or Big 12 can get on their own.

This would be awesome. I would like to get some revenge for losing to Texas A&M 6 years in a row during the time I was at LSU. Glad we ended that series but ready to get it going again!!

If you actually believe that this is a reason Texas would not want to join the SEC. I'd love to talk to you about buying this bridge I have for sale in Brooklyn.

Unlikely, but the conference would be absolutely disgusting in baseball if you added those 4 teams.

Would be my dream 4. No doubt, but I only see two of those as a real possibility.

it was 5. We beat them 4 of 5, then they won 6 strait.

I was pissed, it was a great series, plus it ended when we started to get good again.

yeah, I couldn't imagine UNC leaving the ACC. I could see Texas coming if the $ was right, despite what the rantards say, but I don't think would be likely.
A&M and FSU should have joined in 92

According to what I read in the Dallas paper a few days ago, Texas has told the Big Ten that in order for any discussions on them coming there, A&M and Tech most also be included. Demanded by the powers that be in the Texas legislature. Also, they have required that their traditional game with Oklahoma not be messed with either.

PAC-10 also courting them as well.
