Yeah, forget what I said in my earlier post. If I was in DC, this place would be #1 on my list. Idiot that I am, I stayed at the MO half a dozen times over the years and it never even dawned on me to eat there. I'm stupid.

Ray's Hellburger is worth the trip. One burger is enough for two people but you won't be really happy with only half a burger, it's too good. Jeans and a t-shirt are not out of place either.

TenhPenh is a pretty good fusion place at the corner of 10th and Penn :rimshot: It's good for just appetizers also. A bit pricey but good. Business casual is ok.

Rasika rocks. Very good stuff.

Old Ebbitt is kind of the old standby when you want to eat at a semi-upscale bar. Nothing wrong with it and it is in your area, but honestly there are other places just as good and similar.

I think the terrace at the hotel on 15th is open now after renovations. Grab a seat if you can, it's one of the best views in DC.

I am glad to hear it. It is a very interesting menu.

I think we may do the lunch tasting for $30 a person....is this a good way to go?

Its close to the National Gallery, and we plan on spending a day there since its one of the greatest museums in the world.

Ever been to Ray's the Steaks? East River or Arlington?

Tarbouch in Arlington is a Mediterranean restaurant that I like to go to when I'm there that is open very late.

Probably not a bad way, go for it. Rasika is definitely good eating if you like Indian.

Also not far away from where you are is Wasabe on 17th near Farragut West (and North) metro stops. It is a Peruvia/sushi fusion, and very good IMO.

Speaking of Peruvian, another place I should mention is Super Pollo in Arlington. Hands down the best Peruvian chicken anywhere. You will need a car to get to it, but it's cheap.

That's the place at Spout Run at Lee Hwy? Always wondered about it, I drive by there nearly every day.

Also in that area is the Italian Restaurant, very good subs.

To the OP, some of the best pizza anywhere is at 2 Amy's. Get there early to avoid a long wait.

lived in DC and never went there. heard really good things about this and all his restaurants (Hellburger is the burger place and it's amazing). the owner, michael landrum, is an interesting guy. I used to read this DC dining forum (LINK ) and he would post on there from time to time.

here's a recent article in the wash post

I like Citronelle a lot, as well as Cafe Atlantico. I would recommend you look at Vidalia as well (near McPherson Square). It features some interesting takes on classic southern dishes. Its fairly eclectic in their ingredients, but you might dig it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ray's The Steaks. It may be a challenge to bring a large group there due to the small dining area and limited parking. The food is great and prices are reasonable. I'm sure the Arlington folks love it, but it's tough to get to if you're a pedestrian taking the Metro.

I'm a huge fan of Georgia Brown's just north of the White House.

I'd also recommend DC Coast where the smoked lobster is a unique pleasure.

Legal Seafood is great too. It's a small chain, but with good reason - the consistently high quality food created a great branding opportunity.

...and for something less pretentious, Ben's Chili Bowl for one of the best chili dogs you'll get your hands on.

I play in a chamber orchestra in D.C., and this is where we go after all our concerts. Never a bad meal. Arlington location. The friends I stay with live almost around the corner from the court house.

The time I was there in January was especially nice because we ate there, then walked across the street to the sports bar to watch the NFC Championship game. Good times.

Not sure if it's on the menu regularly, or if it was a daily chef's special, but ask about their blue cheese flan. Sounds gross, but it was amazing. You can use it as a filet topping, but I ate it on its own.
