Considering Benson owns the fox tv station it's probably put out there by the Saints. This is as good as the team posting it on their website in my opinion.

I'd definitely like to see this happen. PT is a huge part of the offense and still seems to be underrated by some fellow Saints' fans. What sets him apart, and makes him hard to replace is his versatility. He can block, catch, run between the tackles/outside, and can even return kicks if you need him to. HIs best asset however is his hustle. The guy rarely goes down on the first shot and he constantly falls forward (ala Deuce in his prime).

I agree PT was huge in the run up to the superbowl consistant...4-7 yards a carry...

solid all-around running back who can be used in any way payton can think of. Any play designed for reggie (besides toss sweeps and reverse...sweeps don't work anyway)out of the backfield PT can run

Really hope it's under $4m a year and they pull another Jahri and give him as much as possible this year.

2010: $7m
2011: $3.5
2012: $3m
2013: $2m

would be a good enough deal for us and not unreasonable for PT given he still hasn't proven he can handle a full load. I just don't like the idea of paying a lot of money to a RB and would rather be able to give Nicks his $6m per year and have a rookie RB out there than have PT and be forced to go with a cheaper guard.

I really hope its at the middle of the payscale for NFL backs. As much as I like the guy he is far from a franchise back.In our system there are many backs that could prosper. We def got more for our money out of PT than any player on the roster last year.I just don't like paying for it after the fact and have him be mediocre the next few years.

He hasn't been able to stay healthy, even as part of rotation. I don't think it's unreasonable to have some concerns about PT being a workhouse.

Been holding that one. Had to use it. Beer inspired.

And there is a difference between predicting below avg. performance and injuries as I can surmise. WDF

This would be a change in SP's play calling. Non?
