I'm guessing he's a year and a half from being in the 250 to 260 range.

If he can add the weight without losing much speed, he'll definitely be impressive.

Doesn't really fit LSU's defense. Would fit much better as an OLB in a 3-4.

he can play DE in the SEC at 230

only concern is power run to his side when in game. might have to run some 3-4 or 4-4 packages with him

Next year I see him as a situational pass rusher either from the end or from the outside lb position. Otherwise, Montgomery, Adams, Edwards and Aghayere will be the DEs

He and Peterson were the two most amazing athletes on the defensive side of the ball, IMO.

Mingo's got scary good future.

I don't care how good/bad the tackles are, if you can get that kind of consistent pressure in a spring game against OTs that are legit SEC athletes at that position, you can play DE in the SEC. If a guy like that is unblockable at DE in his first spring game, that means something.

It's true, there were a few positives coming from the Spring game, and that was one of them. Unfortunately, they are outweighed by the 800 lb. gorilla in the room, our QB situation.

He needs to play about 35 snaps a game so he's fresh for every one of them. We don't want him in so much that he loses his speed, b/c if a OT gets a hold of him it will be bad.

He'll probably be sort of a hybrid. But there's still more than 5 months before the UNC game. Plenty of time to put on a few more lbs.

And that's a bad group right there. Did Adams play in the spring game?

he needs to play LB in a 3/4, we already have one speed rusher in Sam...the other has to stop the run...but we have to many talented DL to run a 3/4 and we dont have a rock at DT.

I agree. Having him as a situational wide pass rusher may be ideal with our future depth at DE. We have 8 DE's this year....may have 10 next year.

Mingo & Jasper stood out big time. I hope TM can add some muscle to him. He could be the answer to 3rd & Chavis.

Dude was the high point of the game for me...VERY disruptive force already...added size and strength will make him an exceptional DE.

Yep, Montgomery looked better IMO. Could have been schemes though, I really don't know.

Ehhhhhhhh, when you get third and more than 8, defenses tend to be in subpackages, not their base. A 230 pound guy running up the field trying to sack the QB is the same as a 280 pound guy. If they run a draw, they both have technically run themselves out of the play.
