Pretty sure Dinardo was SEC coach of the year either the year we hired him or the year before we hired him. He had Vandy playing some respectible football and people thought he could be dominate with good players. He had a respectible run before it all fell apart in his last couple years.

Oh, snap!

(Somebody got told, and the part about Tuberville is excruciatingly accurate and fair.)

Joe Dean was cheap. We had to go after a coach that would take the money Joe was offering.

Sadly, I think a lot of people (pumpers) on these boards would be happy with these records.

The SEC is a tough conference, after all.

Yes.

4-7 = 8-5
3-8 = 9-4

You are on the right track.

While his first couple of yrs were good, he HATED 2-sport athletes and discouraged it bigtime! Remember Kennison?

Pro scouts never understood why he was not utilized more. His Jr yr he was punished for a few games because he ran track against Dinardo's wishes.

Track suffered, recruiting suffered(oh yes it did), and the team eventually turned on him.

TEPPER! TEPPER! TEPPER! Going from Hallman to Dinardo was like going from a Jr. High coach to a college coach. After Tepper's drop linebacker defense failed to work (or any other D he tried), Dinardo was told to fire Tepper. Dinardo said no, and therefore, went down with the ship (Tepper).

Joe Dean also almost screwed up the replacement hire of Dinardo (when we hired Saban). If it wasn't for Mark Emmert we would have never gotten Saban or a coach anywhere in the same league.

It wasn't just Tepper. Rich Rodriguez actually campigned on WWL for the OC job, but instead Dinardo promoted his WR Coach, McCommel. Stupid, stupid, stupid

Yep. i remember DiNardo saying something to the effect of "we don't need a so-called offensive genius to come in here and completely change the gameplan". it seemed DiNardo had to be "above" his assistants....hence he couldn't fire or hire the right guys. i still think he's better than the Les-ron Miles.

Who ever chose Emmert is the one who chose the right guy. imo

His hire led too much of what has followed for LSU football and the school. I was a sad guy when he left BR.

Washington is happy to have Emmert.

Bama Football is happy to have to have the Football Coach he hired while at LSU.

before Dinardo we were winning 2 & 3 games a year, we were happy winning 7 games after that. And 9 & 10 like Dinardo did.

Coordinator on Nat champ. Colorodo.

Head coach at Vandy - had a really good record for Vandy. Honesly -he was a good hire at the time.

He's under appreciated. He caught some tough breaks. In his last season, i believe the average margin of loss was somewhere around 3. Close but no cigar.

This thread is typical of the Rant. A bunch of kids born in the 1990's making comments about things that happened when they were in diapers. Same people are posting in the Baddest Tiger Thread saying Harry Coleman could whip Erik Andolsek.
