Fujita is a class act. Talent can never replace the heart. Here is Scott Fujita's email to New Orleans from nola.com:

Here's what he had to say about the move via email:

"Obviously this is a bittersweet time for our family. We're extremely excited about this new opportunity, but it's definitely hard to say goodbye to all the great friends we've made in New Orleans.
"I am so proud of all the things we accomplished here -- both on and off the field -- and I'm proud of the role I played in helping this incredible city experience it's first Super Bowl. In planning for their future, the Saints just didn't value that partnership the same way. And that's fine -- this can be an interesting business, but I wish the Saints nothing but the best.
"We leave New Orleans with no hard feelings whatsoever, and have so many memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. New Orleans will always hold a special place in our hearts...it's given us so much. Now it's time to turn the page and start a new journey.
"We're so thankful to Sean & Mickey for bringing us in to be a part of this great organization, and I'm eternally grateful to all the people of this city for embracing us from day one. We will never forget it. My wife just asked me to say that we will always come back to New Orleans. We promise."

"Scott, you will be missed on and off the field."

man it sucks losing guys that were part of this amazing experience but its still a business and Loomis has to make the tough choices.

but really at the price the browns are paying I think it was an easy decision for our FO

It was players like this that made the Saints so special.

There maybe guys faster, stronger or more talented but this guy had his heart in the right place - for the Saints and the City.

Sounds like Vitt was overruled by GW regarding Fujita.

Saints are still a small market team, and will have to make some tough decisions. That is life in the NFL. Their players will be coveted as well. Stars aligned last year, and Saints were able to put it all together.

Now the challenge is to add parts in a similar manner without breaking the bank. Find the next Fujita or Sharper if it comes to that.

Besides the oddity of this year there is a salary floor and cap that all teams have to work within. Market size has no impact on that. Let's hope it stays that way. That's why the NFL is on top of the sports world in parity.

Class move by Fuju. I say this is far from norm by NFL players leaving places.
