Burton's films are interesting to watch even if the story sucks. If Alice in Wonderland was made by anyone else I think I'd probably pass, but I'm kind of interested based on how fricked up it looks.

Isn't Bay responsible for all the horror remakes?

I thought the first remake of Chainsaw Massacre with Biel was decent.

Hated Friday the 13th. Movie was pure trash.

Bay is bad. Burton is just different. May not be your thing, but he's not bad.

Bay makes popcorn flicks with no socially redeeming value. Burton makes films that requires psychotropic drug use to appreciate. They both suck in my opinion but Burton sucks harder.

I really don't get all the animosity directed at Bay all the time. Sometimes people just wanna see shite get blown up and look cool w/o being mentally stimulated. There's plenty of stuff out there to appeal to your more high-brow instincts.

I'm still angry at Burton for fricking up Willy Wonka and taking the perfectly sarcastic Gene Wilder and making him into the creepy, effeminate weirdo Johnny Depp. And I don't wanna hear about how the book was meant to be dark like Burton's. There's a reason why authors are authors and screenwriters are screenwriters.

More appropriate would be Michael Bay vs. Roland Emmerich.

And that's a tough one. Probably Bay though, just because Emmerich's special effects are more entertaining.

This.

Emmerich is easily the worst director that still manages to get big projects.

Bay.

This may be the worst either/or ever.

I honestly thought that the visuals in 2012 were more impressive than the ones in Avatar. Chastise me if you must.

Emmerich's movies are intelligence and America insulting, but I think he comes through with more memorable special effects than most directors.

I still hate the guy as a director and bullshite marketer, but it takes a lot to eclipse Michael Bay for most painful viewing experiences in my mind.
