I'm not a big Tyrus fan, but that seems like a solid pickup for what the Bobcats need

From Hollingers chat.

Marc Stein just reported that three-way deal with Knicks is done -- TMac to Knicks, Hughes to Sac, Jeffries to Hou with 2012 first and right to swap in 2011. Landry, Dorsey to Sac, Martin to Hou, no word on Sergio. Looks like Hill stays in NY.

NY getting rid of Jeffries is huge for them. That was the last piece of the puzzle for them to be able to sign 2 big FAs

Maybe Tyrus will get some consistent playing time now. Sucks that the Bobcats never play on TV so I can't watch him.

The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.

The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.

Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes.

If the Knicks don't sign 2 huge free agents, they are fricked.

That is huge if its not protected. When the Knicks swing and miss on these big FAs these will both be top 5 picks. New York is puttin all their eggs in one basket and its gonna come back to bite them hard.

I bet those picks are protected, but I just wanted Jordan Hill in addition to Martin before it were to be made final. The picks are just bonuses.

I know he hasn't done anything, but he's 22 years old and very raw. The Rockets could use a long and athletic 4 to now backup Scola. Really no risk in taking him in and seeing if he can develop into a decent player.

Houston's GM is once again showing how it is done even in a year when both of his stars are out. Hill for Landry is a wash and Martin will be what Houston was hoping for with Ming and T-Mac. Next year:

Ming
Hill
Battier
Martin
Brooks

Scola
Budinger
Ariza
Lowery

Wow, very good, probably top 3 in the West if Ming is back and can play 75+ games.

One more add to three-way trade: Houston is also taking on Hilton Armstrong to make the salary-cap math work, sources say 2 minutes ago from TweetDeck

Hilton traded again

The Rockets seem to be very good at developing talent. Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry werent thought of as NBA starters when they came out. Two years from now this team could be scary.

Brooks
Martin
Ariza
Scola/Hill
Yao

With a deep bench and when the Knicks shite the brick this summer, two very good draft picks.
