The Pac-10 needs to do something quickly before they're left in the dust financially and it seems the commissioner finally realizes that

Both would be great additions.

BYU would be an interesting add to the Big XII. I would rather TCU, but they would be in an already loaded South so BYU being added to the north would be a good move.

BYU is private correct?

So there wouldn't be an issue in the state legislature allowing Utah to go to the PAC 10 while BYU stayed in the Mountain West?

Other obvious question that springs to mind is who the Big 12 makes a grab for (to replace Colorado)

Arky?

Would never happen (unless everyone at the top of the Arkansas program were on a meth binge).

15 years ago maybe... but the amount of money they would lose jumping from the SEC to the Big 12 would be huge

maybe before the latest ESPN-SEC contract, but now, no way

TCU would make the most sense I would think, but they might want to try to reach out of Texas and grab another media market

What if the Big 12 loses both Colorado and Mizzou? That would be a painful loss to that conference. They could add TCU, but who else? BYU?

Articles like these mean nothing to me since 99.9% of them use the word "could" in their title. I trust this guy's speculation about as much as I trust GHAZI's NBA analysis.

Awesome news, would add another high profile championship game and not just another regular season game during Championship Saturday.

I also love when they shake up the conferences, makes for some discussion about College football during the offseason.

Idly wonder about BYU, Memphis, TCU, and Louisville for the Big 12 if they need replacement schools

You could stretch it to South Florida if you just wanted a school on the rise but it's so far away geographically (and there are other sports besides football) that I don't think it's feasible.

This was the only really important part of the article imo

At least someone is telling him something

BYU's problem is the religion doesnt allow them to play sports on sundays.

We're getting 5 million a year to play texas am for the next 9 years with a 30 year option.

Arkansas isn't leaving the sec anytime soon.

He was brought in to give the pac ten a facelift financially wise and to bring new ideas as to expand itself in the eyes of people across the country.

I am not sure if I like the idea but I have known it will happen eventually. I wonder which team would go to the south/north or do they both go to the south? Would they split and one go north and one south and split up Cal and Stanford which aren't very far apart from each other? I think my divisions below make the most sense but I could see other ideas as well.

North

Udub
WSU
Oregon
OSU
Cal
Stanford

South

UCLA
SC
Utah
Colorado
Arizona
ASU

or

North

Udub
WSU
Oregon
OSU
Cal/Stanford
Colorado/Utah

South

Stanford/Cal
Utah/Colorado
UCLA
SC
Arizona
ASU

The Good: It should be much easier for a team from the PAC 10 to get to a BCS game/BCS championship game. A conference championship game gives you a "mulligan" if you drop one during the regular season. By not having to play every team in conference, the schedule gets easier, and the league's overall record will improve.

The Bad: Playing every team in conference was pretty damned cool. Besides, where are they going to play a Championship game? Rotate it between Pasadena, Phoenix, Seattle, Denver?
