He's been quoted as saying he wants to play in a pro-style offense. no way in hell he ends up at Florida, IMO.
Maybe so. Urban has been pretty good at adapting his schemes as well.
I was mostly just using Bridgewater as an example of the type of player they will pursue.
Lemay should be their top target.

for whom?
I seem to remember that he had a few passing plays for Leak, but the majority of the time, you could tell very easily that Meyer implemented his system regardless of the QB.

I'm just glad next year is the first year in a little while I feel like Florida really isn't that scary anymore.
Brantley should be solid, but Meyer has been known to not have much of an offense when his QB isn't dual-threat. Florida's 2005 offense with Leak was pretty mediocre. Brantley just doesn't scare me like Tebow did.

His system at Utah is a lot different than what he ran with Tebow.
Alex Smith sure as hell wasn't battering ramming it up the gut every other play.
At Utah they ran a shite ton of shovel passes and option shite. Tim never really ran the option like that and the shovel pass they'd use a bit, but not as much as what Smith did.

The system for Brantley is likely going to be a lot different. Addazio has stated he is a more traditional offensive guy at heart, and with Brantley working with Loeffler, there is going to be more vertical passing and JB will take many more snaps under center.
The difference with Leak was that it was his senior year, he had been with several coordinators already. Meyer recruited Brantley knowing full well what the future was going to be.
FWIW, most think we will get Lemay in the next class. This wasn't really a year we needed a top QB.

wait leaks offense was almost as scary as i can imagine in 06...the only difference was that they didnt have a really explosive running back that year....more of a bulldozer...but acctually there are 3 WRs that are going to start making a name for themselves....Harvin already has, then the #3 WR for the Bengals caught a bunch of big passes for them this year so look for him to get more attention next...and dont forget about Louis Murphy...he is getting looked over because he played for okland...he will arguably be thier #1 WR next year with all the big plays he made last year...but Urban Meyer will change his system for his QB...but it will never be under center only shotgun...this year is gonna have a major drop in QB run plays

recently meyer has put these skill guys into the draft:
caldwell
murphy
harvin
I personally think Hernandez and Cooper will both have productive NFL careers as well.
They have all done quite well the past few years.
With regards to Alex Smith. You coach a guy to become the #1 pick in the draft and that somehow sends rend flags??? Who cares what eventually happens in the pros. Also, several of those QBs you listed were stuck on the depth chart behind tim tebow...and most transferred out.
Waggoner transfered.
Newton was released from team.
Portis transferred.
In several mock drafts Brantley was listed as a potential 1st round pick in next years draft. Pretty good for a florida qb? Trey Burton has been committed for over a year and we really havent gone after many other qbs. We should sign two QBs in next years class.

Alot of talk about this on the airwaves recently. Seems that I'm not the only one that thinks that Florida can only recruit certain type QB's.

which is my point. How often do you see NFL scouts fall in love with shotgun QB's?

Sam Bradford is about to be the first QB taken.

The spread didn't become the dominant offensive formation in college football until a couple years ago. Before then you had very few top recruits going to schools that ran the spread. That's changing now and you're going to see tons of top rated QBs coming out of shotgun systems.
Just this year a majority of the top rated QBs have opperated basically only out of the spread
