The whole Valentines day special dinner out is a scam.

Biggest amateur night of the year, for dining out.

winner winner chicken dinner

Going out of V-day is for rookies and guys who try to make up for never taking them out somewhere nice just for the hell of it. It's not special to go to a restaurant on V-day with a scaled down menu and shitty service.

Luckily, both my gf and I agree valentines dinner is as much a cliche and a ripoff as new years eve.

+1; haven't been out on V-Day for dinner in a very long time. most places have set menus with only a couple of options, service is usually substandard because they are so busy, and the atmosphere also suffers.

I understand not going out to dinner on Valentine's Day but the whole "Valentine's Day is a Hallmark Holiday.. I refuse to celebrate" crap is annoying.

no, we celebrate the holiday; we just don't go out to eat on Valentine's Day because it is too much of a hassle and we find we don't enjoy the experience all that much. I give flowers, although i don't do roses--i choose some other type of bouquet.

So many people decided it was cool to rebel against valentine's day that it has become uncool.

Cool or uncool, it's still a stupid holiday. If I ever feel the need to do something nice for my gf, I yell "Thar She Blows" right before.

Exactly. And this is understandable completely. I just find that the people who flat out hate Valentine's Day are miserable people. Sure, most of us express our love every day but how can you hate on a day designed to do it even more?

Of course it's usually the single and miserable chicks who hate it

Regardless, we got a gift card to Ruffino's for Christmas and decided to use it for Valentine's Day so we don't even have to spend any money. :)

Hahaha, like I said the no dining out is COMPLETELY understandable. If I dine out, it's always been on the day after or something. It's the people who are like "I hate valentine's day.. single's awareness day .. blah blah"

It's about reminding the people you love that you love them. Unless you have no family, no relationship, and no friends, I don't see how people can hate it

I dont think a place such as flemmings or Commanders is gonna "scale down" the service based on the day of the year.

I'm one of those who thinks it is way too much trouble to eat out. Same with Mother's Day. I'll celebrate our anniversary and my birthday by eating out, and avoid the crowds on the Hallmark holidays.
