pulling for his kids and the COLTS. Can't blame him and I RESPECT THAT.......but Brees is officially the face of this franchise forever.

Bottom line is New Orleans did more for Archie then he ever did for New Orleans. No foundation, never went to visit the schools or donate money to any cause that I know of. I could be wrong, but Brees is bigger then football in the City.......

This is far from the truth. Archie has been active in media and his wife is a well respected socialite. As a couple they participate in many local foundations that help the city in various ways. They live in Orleans Parish. They raised their family in New Orleans. They support local restaurants and arts on a weekly basis.

A better question might be this: Why did none of the Mannings attend Louisiana schools for college? I get that one of them had to go to Ole Miss. But both?

And how would you say these opportunities presented themselves?

Listen, he could have went back to Mississippi. He stayed and did what a lot of NFL vets do....he got a job talking about football. How about Bobby Hebert? He left NOLA only to come back after 870 threw some money at him. He was the VOICE OF THE FALCONS....come on....

any foundations for the public schools? any foundations for katrina victims?, any business to employ citizens of New Orleans? he may have donated money (granted he did not eran what they make now) but I have yet to see any Manning with an after school program, building, business, or anything to help the citizens other then the airplanes of food that Eli and Peyton sent for Katrina. They have the Manning football camp that to my knowledge you have to pay to attend. It has been a society ball thing from day one. Between Peyton and Eli's bank roll you would think that at least the schools or hospitals would get rebulit.........Name me one civic program or association that Manning has supported that does not have a ball or is a private group?

Screw the damn Mannings, they only live in that Garden District mansion due to the Saints paying Arch obscene money ($1M/yr) in the 70's. He was pretty disrespectful to them with his comments today. Saints will punish Peyton like a schoolyard game!

What have you done, Social Tiger? I mean this is a little heavy handed of you considering you have nothing to back any of your assertions up. The Mannings have been very active in the New Orleans community. Furthermore, it's not their responsibility to rebuild hospitals and schools. I don't see the problem with the Mannings being associated with charities and foundations that are based in sports. I mean, this is the business they are in.

That is an idiotic post, millions per year? Archie never made close to that in the 70's. Why would you make such a jack arse statement.$600,000 in 1981 was his peak idiot!

bottom line is Archie is a divisive figure amongs saints fans. He comes off as uptown elitist, anti-LSU, and stuffy. That was fine when the saints were small potatoes, but they have outgrown Archie's image.....thank god. Forget archie.

What the frick was disrepectful about what Manning said? I heard an entire interview about the Super Bowl tonight and he said nothing derogatory about the Saints.

P.S. to another poster. Parents have absolutely zero . . . and I mean zero . . . obligation to persuade their children to attend a Louisiana school.

I quit liking the Mannings when he and his boys didn't even give LSU so much as a look. Screw them all.

I've never really gotten that. They seem nice enough when I've been around them. And the last thing I am is an uptown elite. I just happen to live there. I sure as hell wouldn't be invited into one of their clubs. But whatever.
