And oh the irony it would be for the Colts to lose to the team they helped get into the playoffs while ruining their shot at a perfect season.

I love the NFL playoffs. If no one wanted the Jets in the playoffs then the Colts and Bengals should have taken care of that. Now the Jets can put out the other team that let them in.

BCS would have prevented the Chargers and Vikings despite 12+ win seasons from having a shot at a championship.

And that's fricking retarded.

It'll all work out when the Vikings win it all.

Oh, and this isn't a case of the Jets getting hot. That defense is awesome, and the run game is awesome, and Sanchez is protecting the football.

Yes, it would be much more preferable having a sportswriter decide that San Diego is a "better" team than the Jets.

regular season record over a 16 game sample establishes this

Typically, yes.

And the NFL playoffs have bore this out in all but one game, thus far. I'll take that.

not typically, the Chargers are a better team, they proved that over 16 games. They lost today by 3 in a game their pro bowl kicker missed 3 FG.

The Jets are a prime example of what's wrong with playoff that have too many teams

12 teams may be too many, but 2 teams sure as shite is too little.

You're conveniently disregarding margin of victory in this argument. The Jets have a superior margin of victory than the Colts. They're much better than a 9-7 team.

No, they aren't.

They still have to win 2 more games. If they lose to Colts or Vikings then who gives a shite really? Chargers deserved to lose.

The only recent unworthy SB champion I can recall is the Giants, and that was off of the flukiest play in the history of sports in the Tyree grab.

and yet 2 teams had to lie down for them to get to 9 wins?
