Alomar didn't and Kurkjian's about to lose it.

undeserved. This has become the hall of the very good.

Grew up watching Dawson and Sandberg on WGN. They are the reason I'm CUBS fan today.

at least you admin to being bandwagon.
Dawson doesn't deserve the hall. Alomar was actually an all-time great at his position.

Dont spit in an umpire's face and then talk about his dead child.

Alomar got left out because he spit in that umpire's face. Otherwise he'd be in.
What hat does Dawson wear? Expos or Cubs?

Alomar not getting in is a fricking joke

I was against Dawson's candidacy, but he doesn't hurt the Hall. He's better than Jim Rice. He was a great player in his day, even if his OBP is horrific. Nice guy, by all accounts. I'm happy for the guy and it's hardly the worst selection ever, just nowhere near the best.
It's criminal Raines and Blyleven didn't get in. Two guys have gone in the Hall in the last two years who Raines was much better than, at the same position.

Sad not to see Edgar Martinez not get the vote. I am a fan of the National League, however, the designated hitter is a position in major league baseball and Edgar owned it. If major league baseball is going to keep the DH position, than players should be recognized for being good at it. Broadcasters can be elected but someone who actually plays in the game will miss out because people don't like their position in the game.

I wouldn't call growing up watching a team and becoming a fan of them "being a bandwagon"

if Dawson wasn't on the Cubs for his greatest years he doesn't get in. Simply not worthy. I agree on Rice.

Edgar Martinez should not get in. That's exactly my point. Every half decent player gets in now. Terrible.
We shouldn't even have players going in every year. Should be once every 5 years or something. There simply aren't that many HOF worthy players.

Dawson received 420 out of 539 votes for 77.9% of the vote in voting by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Bert Blyleven was second with 400 votes (74.2%), five shy of the 405 votes or 75% needed for induction, and Roberto Alomar was third with 397 (73.7%).
For the first time in BBWAA balloting two candidates failed to gain induction by fewer than 10 votes.

I'm not a Braves fan by any stretch of the imagination, but still no Dale Murphy is a fricking crime and a shame now that Dawson is in.
