End Game coaching

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but did anyone else think we should have let them into the end zone with 2:45 left on the clock? We had 2 TOs and would have had time to work down field, down 6 or 7. That vs 2 pt game with 58 sec and a shitty track record of end game clock mngmnt. Which is a better situation?
Our D was gassed, they were running downhill, and we could have conserved clock and TO's. I think 1 min for a shot of getting in FG position in those conditions would be sketchy at best.

So you'd prefer them to just quit?
Uh, no, thanks.

thats A thought but with the field as bad as it was I would rather have kicker trying to win it for PSU.
And as for what LSU would have done their is no clue????

Not with our offense, and their kicker from what the commentators were saying wasn't very good. In those field conditions nothing is a given, and they had bad snaps on field goals several times during the game.

I agree with this.

Thanks, I just had a gut feeling it wasn't going our way. I definitely thought the field conditions favored Penn State completely, basically neutralized our speed advantage except for trindon.

Please explain. It killed everyone's speed except Trindon? Why not his too? Why not Penn State's running/speed? We were outcoached and outplayed. Please quit.

A field goal on that field no matter how close was no chip shot. If you hold them out of the endzone like we did, the kicker might have lost his footing on the sloppy field and blown the field goal.

Trindon = small and less inertia. He could still make his cuts without having the turf come out from under him.
We had more speed to lose than Penn state. The big bodies for PS won out and bottled up out already woeful running game.
Rain = wet. We had more Defensive drops that could have been picks. Our CBs were more aggressive and had more opportunities and dropped them all. And they made the catches that they had to, we didn't.

Aren't all top SEC schools athletes supposedly faster than the Big 11's top guys? Wouldn't a horribly wet, sloppy field negate a speed advantage if there was one?

Outplayed...yes. I wouldn't really say outcoached, we once again killed ourselves on our last possession.
