Coach shouldn't be locking the players up anywhere.

I don't see why people don't get that.

He didn't lock the player in anything. I don't see how you can't understand that. He had trainers there with the kid to monitor him because he had a mild concussion. Low lit, quiet places are recommended for people with concussions. This kid and his dad are full of shite. Try to understand.

Here is the thing. We don't really know what we went down. It is all pure speculation at this point. Obviously Tech thought enough of the situation to act on it. That tells me that SOMETHING happened. I have no problem with Leach being suspended while they check it out.

Not only have many of Leach’s former players already come forward to defend him, but testimonials popping up on the Internet are running roughly 100 to 1 in favor of Leach and against his bosses,

this is what i have been hearing since day one. even rumors that the players don't want to play in the bowl game if leach is not there. but those are definitely just "rumors". i have nothing to back that up other than friends in lubbock saying they heard it.

quote:

Tech then asked Leach to apologize formally to Adam by Monday. Leach outright refused to do that, insisting that he had done nothing wrong, and Tech suspended him

so that is why he was suspended? not for mistreatment of james? or is this a different suspension?

quote:

I bet the James kid said the sunglasses wuold help him in a smartass tone to Leach.

that is pretty much what i heard. the kid is a slacker and was being a smartass. leach basically just told him to go to the equipment room and watch practice through the window.

this all sounds ridiculous. i had to endure worse punishments in high school soccer practice. and this kid can't handle it in college football? but again, i am just hearing rumors and nothing is official.

Hell, when I played pee wee football, our coaches called us queer for wanting water breaks in August, and made us run extra for whining about it. The dads who watched practice hoped their kids didn't embarrass them.

I didn't get playing time because I sucked , but I tried.

James sounds like he's suffering from SIV.

the one thing I havent seen here but heard multiple times on the radio, is that James went to see his own doctor off-campus. When he came to practice and reported that he had a concussion, Leach told him to go to the team doctor to verify. Apparently, Leach didn't 100% believe James. James refused to go to the team doctor - which he is entitled to do- at which point Leach told him to walk around the track. Then the sunglasses, etc, etc, etc....you know the rest.

I for one, think Leach is 100% justified in requesting that the team doctor simply verify what another doctor diagnosed. Couple that with the reported attitude problems James is said to have had, and I have no problem whatsoever with what Leach did.

not to mention, according to that video in the other thread, james' doctor said what leach did was good for james condition. that was coming from leach's lawyer though.

leach did not do anything to harm the kid for sure

if the kid was locked in, which there is nothing to confirm this assertion, then he crossed a line

but in terms of player safety, i don't see where leach made any wrong moves

even taking james' side of the story as gospel, no steps taken could have hurt him

Obviously Tech thought his dad works for ESPN and we are going to have a PR nightmare if we don't do something.

fixed it for you.

IMO opinion Tech totally jumped the gun on this whole situation by suspending Leach. Keeping things the status quo while investigating would have been the right move. Tech is obviously looking for a reason to get rid of Leach because of personal conflicts between Leach and the AD.

And as I posted yesterday, Leach is too smart to do something to harm the son of an ESPN personality, knowing that doing so would mean that it's going to be broadcast all over the world.

Taking everything into consideration, I don't see how anyone can take James's side on this.

Leach then said I will do you one better and told the trainers to take him into the equipment room and turn the lights out so that the light would not bother him.

Lets assume that James really is a whiny arse spoiled bratt and complains about playing time. I'll give you that for the sake of argument.

Now, if what is quoted above is really what Leach did, its clear he should be fired. If James was diagnosed as concussed and wearing sunglasses to block light (which is normal for concussion patients) and Leach got his panties in a wad and assigned him to sit in a dark equipment shed for 3 hours its bullshite under any circumstance. Unacceptable behavior from a Head football coach. Period.

We are talking about concussions, not someone who is dogging a sore hamstring.
