We need to change the decal.

I liked the old gold helmets.

What year defines the standard, traditional uniform? They've changed a hell of a lot from the uniforms I see in Dad's old Gumbo yearbooks from 1947-1953. Shouldn't those uniforms be considered the "traditional" ones?

I'm all for the tradition of white jerseys at home, and stripes on the shoulders, as well as gold trousers. But even the helmet logo has changed several times in the last five or six decades. (Just for goodness sakes DON'T PUT TOONCES ON THE HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!)

Yes.

All of these schools have worn alternate unis at some point in the last few years. Texas and Ohio St. were both part of the Nike promotion.

I don't get why you thought our unis from last night looked like a MAC team. What makes something a MAC uni, and how is that different from other conferences?

The helmet decal is the one thing I would never want to see changed.

Who wants LSU to look like a MAC team?
Does Alabama dick around with their unis? Does Penn State? Texas? Michigan? Ohio State? Oklahoma?
Sure Ole Miss does. And Mississippi State and ULL too.

Those unis need to be sent to North Dakota or someplace like that.

Ohio State and Oklahoma also wore the Nike unis at points this season.

I thought I was watching Georgia Tech or the Golden Domers. I think our regular uniforms are great and we should keep them.

I just pulled out my LSU football vault book. In 1933 LSU beat Tenn 7-0 wearing old gold leather helmets. First pic where I could see a paint color on the helmets.

It looks like the yellow doesn't show up until around the 50's.

I liked the unis, but unlike most, didn't care for the helmets. I would have preferred purple helmets

I liked the whole uni. I think they made every player, even Josh "Money" Jasper, look like beasts out there.

I wish there was an onlin version of this book. I might pick it up anyway and scan some of the pics. Shaka and I have this thing going on about the colors. Like I posted last night you'd think that LSU would see the importance of our uniforms through the years and post it on the LSU site somewhere.

Uniform preference is in the eye of the beholder. I for one don't like white pants & white jerseys together. Too much white makes our players look like "Mr. Clean" or the "Good Humor Man". White looks good with a contrasting colored jersey or pants.
