On the last play his co-host said: "you don't usually see a team using the victory formation to give the other team the win". Ouch.

When I first stumbled on the show as I was flipping channels, it took me a little off guard. Nutt seemed so ... coherent.

We need to do some research on this. I bet LSU is the only team in the history of college football, (hell, all football), to every go into the victory formation on the 8 yard line when they are losing.

I 2000, the ole miss play by play announcer after the Music City Bowl said "Good luck to the rest of the SEC in their bowl games, except for LSU.

You usually don't see a play by play announcer spew more venom than a black mamba.

I watched it and saw the remark. The entire show he praised LSU and our players. What else did you want him to say when it came to that play. I actually gained respect for Nutt after the show. He seemed very humble IMO!

I've never had a problem with Nutt. I kind of like him. He has never really come across as a jackass to me.

I believe Saban's 1st choice was Houston Nutt to replace him on his departure to the Nfl!

Read in the Memphis paper Sunday Nutt said that if LSU had lined up in a formation that he did not recognize he was gonna call timeout.

To which writer Jimmy Hyams wrote "whaaaaaaaaaaaat!! and allow LSU to line up for a game winning field goal".

That woulda taken alot of heat of the hat if that had happened. The Nuttster ain't no rocket scientest either.

Everyone who doesn't know what the victory formation is needs to do some research.

The victory formation is when a qb takes a knee so the clock will continue to run and you don't have to risk a fumble. You also usually see a RB about 15-yds behind the QB.

I didn't see JJ take a knee. Did you?

The truth is the clock it play is not that big of a screw up on the coach's preparation, but player execution. They should have had time to get the pass off one second later and reach the endzone. The aftermath and confusion is a totally different thing.

What deserves criticism and has been, is the play sequence on the 1st-3rd down plays.

I didn't see the show, but Houston Nutt should have used that comment as a chance to educate the Ole Miss fans, not take a dig at Coach Miles. It shows less class than I thought he had.

Smart on Nutt's part. He's hoping that someday he gets offered the LSU job. He would jump on it in a second. He knows you can't win championships at Ole Myth.

To be clear, this analysis doesn't mean I would want Nutt as our coach.
